as much as I loath the eagles, I have to say it was a genius move to get rid of two contracts and stop the bleeding. the titans and dolphins must have used mat Millens gm training manual. the two players the dolphins got stink

Me too cause their OLINE was great until they replaced there Guards with two scrubs.
Kind of sounds like what I said, but I was told Guards are overrated and not that important...

Yes, but they gave up the 13th pick and 2 players to get that 8th.
The Murray trade was the sAmerican type of deal they traded Murray and swapped 4th round picks. Sliding back 5 spots and getting to NFL players was brilliant on the part of Miami.
Not sure I agree with that. Philly wanted to unload Maxwell. You are almost paying a team to take him. At his current max value (really beyond max value) he is a HUGE liability in a trade. I wouldn't take him if you gave me a 3rd rounder to do it. Alonso, however I think could make it worth it in the long run for Miami. Plus I don't get too hung up moving from 8 - 13. Obviously 8 is better, but it doesn't always work out that way with draft picks...

Plus, I really think Maxwell kind of stinks

That's exactly what you said and exactly what I said. Thats why I PMED you saying how wrong I was and how right you are.

Interesting that Manster got quiet when he sees everyone saying Philly got over.

Crazy that the number 75 CB of 111 can get 63 million with 25 Mill guaranteed?

The Miami Dolphins announced that they’ve restructured the contract of newly acquired CB Byron Maxwell on Thursday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Maxwell gave the Dolphins $1.5M in cash back for the 2017 year of his contract in exchange for $2M more guaranteed in 2017. Rapoport adds that this will likely keep him in Miami for at least two years.
  • According to Rapoport, Maxwell will now make $17M over the next two years instead of $18.5M, but also gets $13.5M guaranteed as opposed to $11.5M.
This was expected as part of their trade with the Eagles. However, the contract details have yet to surface.

Maxwell, 28, is in the second year of his six-year, $63 million contract that included $25 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $8.5 million (2016), $10 million (2017) $9.75 million (2018), $9.5 million (2019), and $10.5 million (2020) over the remainder of the contract.

In 2015, Maxwell appeared in 14 games for the Eagles and recorded 63 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a recovery and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 75 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
