Eagles @ 49'ers Pre-Game Thread

What is wrong with the Niners? Why are they struggling so much, especially in the second half? They were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders.
In any event, the Niners are favored by about 5 points but that is probably because of all of the O-line injuries that the Eagles have. Only TWO of their starters will be starting on Sunday - LT and RG.
What's weird is that in 3 games, the Niners have been a very good first half team and a poor second half team while it has been the complete opposite for the Eagles. In fact, in all 3 games, the Eagles have trailed in the first half by at least 10 points. They are the ONLY team in the history of the NFL to do that and be 3-0.
If you have any questions about the Eagles, feel free to ask. I'm hoping that we can exchange information before the game starts.

Don't worry, unfortunately for us you'll probably find out what's wrong with the 49ers this Sunday. Our defense will blow through your backup OL and sack Foles or touch an OL's facemask for automatic 15 yard penalties all the way to the goal line. While it isn't the only reason we have lost the last 2 games, penalties have killed any momentum for us especially in the 2nd half. 49ers penalized 137 more yards than opponent with 8 defensive penalties on 3rd downs to keep drives alive.

We were 1-2 last year and we got blown out 2 times in a row. Im not worried. We start off slow plus all the injuries this year. People forget we are missing 3 Pro bowlers: A. Davis, Bowman and A. Smith, plus Starting CB brock, Starting NT in Dorsey and VD didn't play last game. Injuries, Injuries and more injuries.

This^.When did the 9ers change from the ground and pound offense to this 4 wr bullshit? It doesn't work and that is not what got the 9ers to the playoffs the last three seasons. As far as the D goes...release the Tank now!!!

So do I - but if they aren't or if they lose anyway, they could be in very serious trouble. Arizona and Seattle will blow right past them.

Partly this is true. Emotions are running high here with the 9ers so bear with some of us posting here. This thread started a bit early really..we are still dealing with the issues with our team.

Not that any S.F. fans care, but it was announced that the Eagles O-line for Sunday will be Jason Peters at LT, his normal spot, Matt Tobin at LG, David Molk at C, Dennis Kelly at RG, and Todd Herremans, the starting RG at RT.

If we lose on Sunday it will be the worst start to a season since Harbaugh has taken over and the Coaching staff will be taking a lot of heat. This is as close to a must win game as you can get in week 4, Roman and Harbaugh have to find some sort of balance with the run and the pass and for fuck's sake quit running the RO so damn much it is something to be used as a wrinkle not 10 times a game, plus it puts Kap at risk every time he takes off running.

No problem. So far, I have NOT felt offended in any way.
I realize that the Niners have been having problems but Eagles fans are simply amazed that the team is at 3-0 plus we realize that streak can come to an end on Sunday. Eventually they will be giving up too many first half points that they will not be able to overcome. If the Niners want to win, they will HAVE TO score second half points.

After having Cunningham, McNabb, and Vick, that is one "problem" that the Eagles no longer have.

As far as scoring in the halfs these teams seem to be the polar opposites but there is more involved as to why this is. BTW congrats so far on being one one if the few 3-0 teams thus far. .

we don't care about your O-line problems, same as you don't care about ours. yes, we ARE having O-line issues starters or no starters.

the 49ers have their backs against the wall......REALLY against the wall, they can't help the Eagles with turnovers, nor 15 yarders. barring turnovers we should be ok, 1st half lead or not.

They ARE the polar opposites. I just saw a stat on TV that the Eagles are plus 50 in the second half compared to the first half while the Niners are minus 49.

Im some what with you. Only positive is Eagles Oline is really banged up and their D stinks. Our Defense is going to have trouble with their offense.

Put pressure on Foles and SF should win this game. Get his happy feet goin'. SF should have little problem running on this Birds team.
