He had 12 last year in Minny and 11 in the shortened season the year before.

He could be a total bust, but at $1M you lose very little.

On the other hand, if he does pot 15+, it's going to be a steal.

Unless he turns into a giant locker room cancer or kills one of your players (too soon?), there's very little downside risk.

Maybe he'll regain his form of the 08 World Championships on that line with Getzlaf and Nash. I know, Perry is no Nash (and he's also a convicted purse swinger), but the potential is there. As long as the Ducks don't have any road trips to Europe, they should be fine.

Absolutely agree with that.

However, it could limit their ability to move Downie for a bag of pucks if they need to open up a bit of cap space at the deadline.
