Why wait at all? Fangio says because of bye week. That only plays into the equation if broncos decide not to activate Lock at all.

I think Brandon Allen has played pretty well, given his draft position and lack of NFL experience. I've been surprised by his long ball and some aggressive play calling at QB. He's also demonstrated the ability to scramble out of bad situations. Seems like the Broncos think he's good enough at this point.

If they're going to activate Drew Lock, it has to be by the first week of December, so that decision is coming soon. At 3-7, the Broncos are arguably out of it and I'm still hoping we'll get to see Lock at some point this season. Fangio remains non-committal publicly as to whether or not they'll even activate Lock for the backup role. I'm sure there's a helluva lot more going on behind the scenes that they don't want to comment on yet.

I don't think Brandon Allen is the reason the Broncos lost yesterday. That interception he through was a killer but he played well enough in the first half to put up 20 points and he nearly led the team to a last minute victory. More than we ever saw from Flacco.

I just don't think Allen is the Broncos future and I would love to get a look at Lock under center soon.

Brandon Allen's 2nd half in Buffalo : 3 for 14 for 4 yards ..

Overall, 10 for 25 for 82 yards in the game … Broncos had 134 yards total offense, punted on 8 of its 10 possessions the others ending in an Allen INT on the 8 yard line and the McManus FG ...

There were at least 3 INTs that were dropped by Bills defenders ...

I think it's safe to say Allen is not an NFL QB. The Browns game was a good moment for him, but I juat dont think he's cut out for this. Maybe he'll get a look in the XFL, but he shouldn't be on the Broncos next year.

It's probably best we use the rest of this year to evaluate Lock. And should he fail to impress, maybe give Rypien a game or two at the end of the season.

Wow, if we are going to give up on a young guy after a bad game, then we shouldn’t ever draft a guy because they all will have up and down games.

Some people have it and some people don’t. Any professional QB who throws for 4 yards in the 2nd half of a game especially when they’re losing given they will be throwing twice as often clearly isn’t a solution. Also there’s this.

I’m a little perturbed I’ve not yet seen an announcement that Lock will be starting next week. Nobody likes 3-8 but the way it went played out perfectly to transition to Lock without any controversy at all. And it’s 3-8. Without even tanking the Broncos likely play themselves into a top 5 pick (they’re already there). Any wins are just confidence builders for the young QB playing for the future of this team. I’m not sure what the team is waiting on. Ready or not Lock must start. Flacco and Allen have shown nothing so even if it does actually get worse, it really isn’t any worse...
