How will the turmoil effect his offensive production in this upcoming season?
Why? Is that just a homer statement? If so I get it. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense.Hey now, I think he will have a good season, but i think he is probably past his prime and is starting to decline. I think he will play out the rest of his contract and will hand over the reigns to Grayson or sign a 1 year deal to give Grayson some more time. He is signed till the end of 2016. Drew Brees says he wants to play till 45. That may happen, but he won't be playing for the Saints till 45.
Drew Brees leads the NFL in interceptions since 2004. Just hope he doesn't have another NFL leading 25 interception season.. HA
No he doesn't. He has 163, Eli has 185...besides, Eli's the one who's thrown 25, Brees' high is 22.
Yeah when I read that comment I kept thinking that just doesn't sound correct. I had looked it up the other day as on another board somebody had posted a comment predicting Peyton Manning would throw something like 27 interceptions this year and so looked back over the last 15 years and Manning hasn't been even close to that number since his rookie year and only a handful of quarterbacks had even come close to that with Brees not being one of them.
As another poster commented I think the yards will still be up there as this team will be chucking it like usual especially with the defense looking at best like a middle of the pack group. Touchdowns wise though losing your best Red Zone player in Graham doesn't usually mean things will all of a sudden be better the next season.
Right now I would predict him to have something like 4800 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. All in all actually a pretty decent season. Not tops in the league of course but I still think makes him a top-10 quarterback.
How many starting QBs have been in the league that long, 5?Drew Brees leads the NFL in interceptions since 2004. Just hope he doesn't have another NFL leading 25 interception season.. HA
He was just shy of 5000 yards and threw nearly twice as many TDs as Ints(33 to 17) last year. And completed nearly 70% of his passes.
Crazy how great you have to be for people to consider that a decline. (I don't know what it's like to see a QB complete passes at that kind of clip.).
It's all relative. Brees had 46 TDs in 2011, 43 in 2012, 39 in 2013 and 33 in 2014. Surely you see the downward trend ..correct?
So just a coincidence your saying?Tds is one of the dumbest ways to judge a QB production. He was never a big high 30's/low 40's td guy until 2011. The year the Saints won the superbowl he had 34 tds. Heck the year they made it to the NFC title game in 06 he only had 28 tds
So just a coincidence your saying?
