No. Award almost always go to a C.
He's been guarding every position 1-5 but I think if it only goes to a CEnter. I would give it to duncan
Only twice in 20 years did this award not go to a C or a power forward playing Center
Basically it is award for centers. The only 2 players to win it in the last 20 years who was not a center or a power forward playing Center were Gary Payton & Ron Artest
Funny thing is when the award was first created in 83, 5 of the first 6 DPOY went to played guard/sf. Since that point only 2 players won it who did not play the F/C position
Im shocked to see hes doing well. Havent followed the NBA since wade took 30 some free throws when the heat beat the mavs in 06 i believe. Glad to see a spartan doing well. He is one of the smartest players to ever play at state
How many power fowards won it?

I really wanted him to stay home and play for the Pistons; they could really use a solid SF. Maybe they can entice him away from California with his memories of beautiful Flint and Detroit and our wonderful weather.

He plays the 4 for us all the time but can play the 3. But I agree
I'm also surprised by just how good Green is in the league. I know he was a really good college player, but the few times that I saw him he didn't look like anything too special. I've seen a few of his games this year and he has been stellar. Remarkably versatile at both ends of the floor and, as you write, a very smart player.
