It all depends on what we do with our own FA. We could need a WR/DT/LB/CB/S all if we don't sign our guys back.

Sure DT and LB are needs no matter what we do with our own guys, but If Jones and Sanu walk, WR may be the biggest need we have. Same with Nelson and Iloka.

S, DT, LB. Draft those before any offensive players. Sanu and Jones shouldn't leave unless they're both dumb enough to think they're #1s somewhere. They're pretty much co #2s here, in a good offense

I'm assuming we at least retain one of our wide receivers.... And one of our safeties. I think we'll also retain Adam Jones. A lot of the other FAs won't have too much value and will probably be back. So maybe we lose Marvin Jones, George Iloka, and Andre Smith - Just spitballing here.

If that's the case, I think you have a few priority areas..... Defensive back - We need more corners. Even in the years where we seem to have a lot of them, we're always thin at the wrong time. Wide-receiver - If we lose Jones, we need some sped on the outside. D-Line or Linebacker. Need some players in the middle.

I think Hue makes a big push for Jones to pair him with Gordon, Hawk and that TE in Cleveland. We likely bring Sanu back, but I don't want to enter next year with Sanu as the 2 and Tate as the 3. That spells disaster IMO. If we lose Jones, I expect a WR in the first 2 rounds. If we keep at least 1 S I don't think we draft one. Williams played very well down the stretch and I expect him to start next year. I we bring Adam Jones back I wouldn't take a CB early either. Jones, Kirk, Dennard, Shaw will be fine. Hall may be back at a discount too. LB is a huge need and would be my 1st round pick. DT is another need. I would say we go LB/WR/DT in our first 3 picks personally.

Kirkpatrick has reached his potential..... And it's not great. Dennard hasn't shown a lot. Hall is old. Jones is getting older. If we don't draft a corner, we'll be screwed in 2 seasons.

I think we have more pressing immediate needs to take early, but a mid round corner like Shaw would be fine. Then we can take one next year or in 2 when we need one. That's just the way I would do it.

Kramer calls you an idiot, because clearly we should have picked the OSU kid in round 1.

We need to draft a DBs that contribute. I'm not convinced that we know how to scout CBs though.

Dre hasn't played anything like a 1st rounder. Dennard hasn't really been on the field, and that's a little concerning, as he was also a 1st rounder. Hall (hey, a 1st rounder) has been serviceable throughout his career, but is going to give you 10 healthy games, tops. Anything you're getting from PacMan is straight bonus at this point. No idea how he's still such an effective player.

We can't afford to take a CB over the other positions of need. Especially if Jones walks. You have to stick with your first rounders and Shaw and expect them to show that they belong. Sign a vet FA like always and go get a LB/WR/DT

And yet, our defensive backs coach was apparently the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Why exactly does everyone have a hard on about Vance Joseph? What exactly did he do?
