I believe they were tied for 4th in odds last year too, they ended up with the 5th. This is a big draft for them. Getting a top 3 pick is a must imo.

I see more than just 3 guys in this draft but that top 3 is GOOD. Holmgren, Smith and Banchero. They need a big badly and really all 3 of those guys are more than bigs.
We actually ended up with the 6, after having a nearly 50 percent shot at getting 2 of the first 5. The lottery Gods owe us.

This would be awesome, I am still going to sacrifice something in a bit though.
How about capsapce?

Absorbing Westbrook and sending Favors to the Lakers should do it...lol

But, gotta get it done before SG-A extension kicks in and I think that is 7/I.

If you don't get a top 3 pick you could always trade up into it.

Shit ton of 1st rounders over the next 5 years.

I would prefer to use the cap soace to screw the Suns out of Ayton, rumors are swirling!

They should take it now.....the Sixers get a bench and the pick won't be as good next year IMO.

It might not.

But the pick has a lot more to improve than it does to get worse.

As someone else said, the difference between 23 and 28 doesn’t matter a whole lot. But, if Philly turmoil + injuries lead to a lost season, it could possibly be significantly better than 23.

You won't have it then.

As soon as Free Agency starts, SG-A max deal counts against the cap.

Oklahoma City has the ability to generate $34 million in cap space, which would allow them to trade for just about any salary. They have enough cap space to take on a player like John Wall, Russell Westbrook, and Tobias Harris and all they would need to send back is Derrick Favors. Their ability to spend in this trade deadline will likely be their final opportunity for them to facilitate salary dumps until at least the 2023 offseason when they are projected to have cap space.

Oklahoma City is likely to climb over the cap July 1, when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's extension kicks in. The franchise could aggressively look to take on unwanted contracts in May or June to help two or three teams dump salary—for multiple draft considerations, naturally. For a contract as big as Westbrook's, the Thunder would certainly demand a pair of first-rounders (likely in 2027 and 2029).

A lot of ifs.

I think the thunder are likely a year away from making such a move but I also think they could easily make a move to get under the cap for Ayton.

Hey they had their No 1 pick, it’s someone else’s turn.
I hope Portland gets #1 and you get #2.

I have said it before, I would not want the #1 pick this year.

Loads of talent.

But, do you want to be the team that picked Ayton or Bagley over Luka?

Phoenix might not admit they shit the bed.

But, they had Luka's former coach as their head guy.

....and they still picked Ayton.

I don't think they regret hiring Monty.

That was Cleary the right call.

But, I'd rather have Luka, Booker, Bridges over Cp3, Booker, ridges, Ayton.

Monday morning quarterbacking.

But, yeah......

Luckily for you, Presti is a much better talent evaluator than I.

But, all these guys are so close.

I'd hate to pick a rotation guy over a perennial All-Star.
