I agree, the one behind Dubnyk will need to be replaced.

They are a lot closer to being good than you might think Dash. I know you hate their guts and all, but I'd take their future in a second.

The jury is still out, in my opinion. Defence and goaltending still shaky. How will the new CBA affect the salary cap? Lots of tough questions still need to be answered in Edmonton.

Although, if the Jackets had a hockey person running things, Grigorenko makes more sense long term. Gives them three supremely talented centers and a reason to hold onto Nash as the first line winger.

Which is why Howson will trade Nash for a goalie and pick Murray.

Need D and goaltending, not to mention some size up front. Make this pick count, sign a vet or 2 and they are a legit threat in 2 years.

It's funny you should say that because after the lottery was over Craig Button joined the TSN panel & made picks for all 14 lottery teams. Button chose D RYAN MURRAY for the Columbus Blue Jackets at 2nd overall. LOL!!

I call BULLSHIT!! This thing has to be rigged somehow. I mean 3 straight years?? I would have been fine with ANYONE else winning the lottery. I wouldn't have cared who it was.

Edmonton wins it. UNBELIEVABLE!!:mad2:

I am not amused.

Actually, I think they would do better to move the Second overall for a goalie at this point. They still get a later pick from LA. Remove the temptation for Howson to do something stupid. Get an actual roster player for the second.

Griogorenko has been showing questionable heart and they don't need any help on D. Get a goalie and a second round pick and move on.

I'd trade Kipper for the 2nd overall pick...

/If you want to throw in Atkinson, I'll drive Kipper to Columbus...

I'm pretty sure it's not on Nash's list but trading Nash FOR the 1st overall would be not a bad idea.

A team that has trouble drawing fans is forced :-)L) to trade the face of the franchise. Having both of the top picks in one year would make a splash.

No on Atkinson, but otherwise you have a deal.

Seriously, a team with two good goalies should be all over that.

Schneider from Vancouver
Bishop or Lehner from Ottawa
Bernier from LA
Holtby or Vokoun...
If the Blues weren't division rivals I'd say Halak or Elliott.

Immediate roster help for something that, with the Jackets' history, will become the next Gilbert Brule.

Button had the Islanders taking Filip Forsberg. Who the heck is Filip Forsberg? He gave Burke what he wants, Galchenyuk.

Forsberg has been slotted in the top 6 pretty much all year. Had a pretty good year in the SEL. As far as draft years go it was (statistically) between Zibanejad and Backstrom in terms of production. Watching him at the WJHC his style of play reminded me a bit of Loui Eriksson.

He looks like he'll be a good player. I just see the Isles looking for a top pairing defenseman though.

I like it for both teams. Jackets get the top 2 picks, and at the same time free up enough cap space to sign 2 legit free agents. There is some talent there, this trade would make them playoff worthy. Oilers would get a big body that can score and take pressure off of the younger guys.
