This pick hurts, Yes he is a great CB but our backend is loaded with young players that just need time and our front end on the defense mostly DT is not so hot.

Well the Hawks should have one of the best backends in football, i said should not will.

don't be to down guys this kid is a gamer and could win the DROY award he is that good. I know it sucks because we sure as hell have WAY BIGGER needs but at least he helps a backend that was giving up over 6 yards after the catch and what the 2nd most 20+ yard touchdown throws. Most people had him as the 3rd or 4th best player in this draft.

I mean i am not a big fan but i know he is talented.

I get your worry but now maybe they go for the best "RUN STUFFERS" at DT you can get those types in the late first and 2nd rounds. We dont need more rush types.

I have no doubt he's going to be a solid corner.

The reason I'm not particularly excited is what this does to their salary base.

Corners don't make as much as DE's and DT's

We passed on the ability to take one of the higher rate positions of need at rookie salary. Makes it more likely they have to get more vet help up front and those will cost more than finding a corner somewhere.
