You might notice that Davidson had only 2 ABs before being pulled from the game yesterday. Not saying it has to do with Hernandez getting sent to the minors but...... maybe..... just maybe.... it does. We also had a no hitter by Allen for the Silver Hawks.

Its almost a given that when a prospect gets called up to the majors, the prospects below him step their game up to try and move up in the system. Our third best 3B in the system, Drury, is 3-5 with 2 homers and 4 RBIs so far today.

Do you think zeke get sent down after today's performance?

Yeah Jonas, I would say so. Cahill needed one more rehab start and even if Spruill pitched decent, the move is probably still made. It's no coincidence that they delayed Spruill's start to today, on the same day Cahill pitched in the minors. Now they can just swap them and Cahill won't have to pitch on short or long rest for his first game back.

Diamondbacks prospect RHP Braden Shipley fired seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts on Sunday for High-A Visalia.
He scattered five hits and walks two batters in the outing, which was easily his best of the 2014 season. In four starts since his promotion from Low- to High-A earlier this month, Shipley owns a 2.81 ERA and 34-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 25 2/3 innings, which comes after he posted a 3.74 ERA and 41-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 45 2/3 frames in the Midwest League. The right-hander still needs to refine his command and improve his breaking ball, but the pure stuff gives him a chance to move up the organizational ladder in a hurry. Shipley should debut in the major leagues at some point next season.

Next season seems a little lofty. It would be September call ups at the earliest. I would say 2016 is more reasonable...maybe even out of training camp!
