Double whammy. Wife and I were both let go

After moving back up here to run a hotel for a friend of a friend 3 months ago we both were given our walking papers two days ago. After taking a property that was previously owned by foreigners, and run into the ground, we were thanked for our hard work and told we were not the right fit. My wife built a staff up where there was no staff. (the camel fuckers did it all themselves) I fixed, built, painted and cleaned what needed it.
We weren't getting rich, maybe a combined $75 between us,but to go to zero overnight just sucks. I think the guy realized that now that the hotel was in shape and has a staff he can pay someone half that.
Fuck him.

Well, when you're good, you're good. She got a call out of the blue offering her an AGM position at a hotel in Omaha. It's a substantial pay cut, but still way more than unemployment. Best news? No moving.
