What the hell are you talking about? Moch is 6'2 and weighs just over 250. He's a 3-4 LB in the NFL.

Besides, we never once used him as a DE until this last preseason. He was always stuck in our system as a 4-3 coverage LB, and not only could he not stay healthy, he SUCKED ASS at the position.

In order to say he could not play a 4-3 DE, he would have actually had to have played that fucking position for us.

He is going to be a fucking beast. Good for him getting away from this fucking disaster we call a football team.

He's like Justin Smith (probably not that good) in that we drafted a guy who doesn't fit our defense. Moch is a 3-4 rush linebacker, not a 4-3 DE. Give him that extra step, and let him start from a standing position and he can use his speed more effectively. We should never have picked him, but letting him go was the right thing to do. He'll get a chance to have a good career.

Justin Smith was a top 5 pick before the rookie payscale. After his contract expired the Bengals franchised him. Then he left for a 45 million dollar contract.

Moch got cut while he was still on his rookie deal as a 3rd rd pick. he then joined a team's practice squad

Jwill's made this comparison, but if Moch turn out to be a good player, it'll be like Ahmad Brooks situation. Giving up on a high ceiling player too early

He very well could have a fine career elsewhere. It happens all the time, and not just here though. Every team can play the what-if game. He's just out of position here, and therefore more likely to have a better career elsewhere.

Even that comparison is tough. Ahamad Brooks was a guy like Burfict - He was seen as having first round talent, but he ended up getting thrown off the team in college which is why he was a supplemental pick. The fact that it took a supplemental 3rd rounder to get him tells you how much talent the kid had. Moch never had that kind of ceiling.

He was a promising, but somewhat flawed prospect.

I think his size and speed combination gives him a really high ceiling. I've pointed this out in other threads, but he's never failed on the field. It was injuries, a suspension, etc.

The Bengals have so many young, talented pass rushers that I don't have an issue with them moving on from Moch. But it might end up being a mistake if he turns out to be a good player.

The jury's still out. He might still end up being a bust. But he definately changed that game yesterday in limited snaps
