When you also look at it that the Bruins wasted those first round picks on guys that were way off the board, it might not look as great in the future

His drafting stinks and it won't matter how many assets and picks he gets as long as he keeps drafting questionable talents when it's not warranted

Agreed. Getting the draft picks wasn't bad, who he spent them on was (in theory, we have no idea how these guys will all turn out).

Hey, he totally Jones it sending a goalie to that Nintendo franchise earlier today.

/apologies to Slim and filo, they know I'm kidding.

It's true. We have to win a cup before we can be upgraded to a super Nintendo franchise.

When you lay it out like that, that's pretty darn good.

I was and still am baffled by the Rinaldi move, but all in all it was a productive weekend for Sweeney and the B's. Some serious cap space was cleared, a forward who's game had tailed off was sent packing for a nice return and one overrated, soft as shit D-man that didn't want to be in Boston was sent to the NHL's version of Siberia.

With some room to maneuver I'm curious to see how it all plays out.

I can't compare him to the guys that he was taken ahead of, but I'll be surprised of Jakub Zboril doesn't turn out to be a qualify NHL defenseman. He's solid in his own end, has great vision in all 3 zones, can make great passes. But what really separates him from most other d-man his age and size is that his wrist shot is as hard as most of their slap shots, and he has a super quick release to go with it. When a goalie and his D are preparing for either a slap shot or a pass, before they know it a wrist shot is in the net.

So the team that went to the second round is Siberia? Compared to the cancerous mass that has been the Bruins team for the past year?

It was time to shake it up..

I will always remember Lucic fondly when he was a little younger and had the desire to compete. To not only drive the net but punish anyone who got in his way. I honestly thought he was the 2nd coming of Cam Neely.

Hamilton was always soft but I was not ready to give in on him yet. The upside is too obvious.

Rinaldo signing embarrasses me. I dont want that tool on my team. I have always hated him and he is a cheap shot punk.

I appreciate Don Sweeney not signing Gregory Campbell.

Dougie Hamilton was traded to Calgary back in June, but remnants of his presence will remain on the Boston Bruins’ salary cap ledger next year.

The Bruins lead a
list of nine teams expected to incur penalties for exceeding the salary cap last season. Hamilton earned a maximum $850,000 in performance bonuses on his entry-level contract last season and contributed to most of the Bruins’ $969,000 overage. That penalty will be applied to the 2015-16 season.

Good! The Bruins don't really want to keep Zboril with the big club for at least a few more years. :)
