It's NOT a "feeling", the contract DOES give them that right.

They can fire him for NOTHING if they want to OR they can fire him for ANYTHING (except what's covered under the anti-discrimination laws).

the exact opposite. i have worked for more years than you have been around and during all that time i never saw anything like this. not one of my employers ever suspended or fired an employee who was under contract for speaking his mind on such a subject or really any subject. it seems to be a recent development in this country that i find disquieting.

Every company is run differently. They have that right in this country

If giving an opinion is detrimental then why isn't putting a political statement over your football? If Jones is getting punished then Sam should as well for his bold face lie to the public.
