In my book Justin Houston currently holds the record. Didn't need a Mickey Mouse sack like Strahan against Brett Favre.

With that said, the answer is yes. TJ Watt will have the record.

Agree... Packers OL were not to happy

While Favre was busy afterward insisting that he had switched his call from run to bootleg at the line of scrimmage, not a single member of his offensive line was supporting the notion. That included tight end Bubba Franks, the person nominally responsible for blocking Strahan on the play.

"That was called as a running play," said Franks, who dutifully went into run-block mode, only to see Strahan blast past him in pursuit of the soon-to-be-fallen Favre. "I don't know if it was a bad snap or what. I was run-blocking. I didn't know it was a pass."

Favre said he changed the play at the line, as he has done many times this season. Strahan, telling the only truth available to him, said, "I just react to what happens." Yet even Strahan had to know he'd been awarded the record by a committee of one.

You can argue that Michael Strahan deserved to have the sack record, but you cannot argue that he earned it. A very proud Green Bay offensive unit saw to that for more than 57 minutes of game action on Sunday at the Meadowlands. The Packers kept Strahan away from Favre. What they didn't know was that Favre, in the end, wasn't going to mind the takedown if it came from Strahan.

Well, the Ravens O-line is shit, so he'll probably end the season with 30

Question is, will it be the new Legitimate Sack Record?

We all know Strahan's record is invalid.

I do not see Ravens laying down for a Steeler to get the sack record.. if he gets it I think it will be legit

In that case, Jared Allen holds the record because he was the first to get to 22 without the use of steroids like Gastineau. :D

Bubba Baker has the real sack record (23).

Wasn't there an article out last year or so that said after watching game film, they figured Deacon Jones had something like that too?
Edit: After looking it up, unofficially Deacon had 22 twice (64 & 68) and 21.5 once(67). In a 14 game season no less. 6 consecutive years of 15+. Wow.

Hope he does. I think he's a much better representative for this honor.
Love hard nose, mud in your face, high motor football players that seem to value the concept of team sports.

21 in 12 gets my vote

Reggie was a beast, i think if someone got 21 in 12...then the ones after can be added for a new record. Maybe that happened, i dont really pay attention to football anymore
