You have Roger Goodell having to pass judgement on one of most influential owners who decides how much he makes. Is this a problem? I think it is.

They don't call Kraft the co-commish for nothing. Huge conflict of interest.

We'll see if the punishment remotely fit the crime. I'm suspecting the bare minimum, and immediate appeal will cut in half any suspension of Brady. He could end out only 2-4 games which would be a total joke, but you know it's coming.

It's insane that people believe that Kraft is somehow more influential on Goodell than the other 31 owners combined.

31 billionaires (well, 30 billionaires plus Packers shareholders) who all want the Patriots destroyed, and you're concerned about the influence of 1 owner?

There is a huge conflict of interest, but it's the opposite of what the original post is concerned about: Goodell is being pressured by the other owners into absolutely crushing the Patriots.

Owners care about revenue. They don't give a shit about justice. Many of them haven't even blinked destroying competing businesses during their careers. Most of them are not choir boys. Their businessmen.

Goodell has cemented his job because he's bringing home the bacon for the owners. Too the point their actually changing the game rules yearly to boost revenues and run up stats.

Past precedent between the way the Pats have been disciplined lightly while others have received much harsher penalties supports the statement if the OP. No one us crushing the patriots but the patriots. The pats are responsable for their own actions

That would be relevant if it were not the total opposite of reality.

I think the biggest problem is the perception of the relationship between Goodell and Kraft. When you're seen together in a social/private setting that you don't share with the other owners, then there's going to be doubts about how impartial you can be when having to decide on disciplinary matters.

Exposing Brady as a fraud and keeping him out of the HOF is enough, no further discipline required. Though when Jimmy Garrafalo pulls a Matt Cassell and goes 3-1 or 4-0 in Brady's "system", that will be more awesome

Translation: "Jerry Jones is a scumbag so that excuses Robert Kraft."

The tired old standby.

This conspiracy is bigger than first thought. Because now the commish is a liar. Goofy was asked that question by a tv reporter. His response was something like it wasn't unusal for him to attend gatherings like that at other owners throwing championship parties. Do I think that makes it right? Not sure sone people invite theiir bosses to Christmas parties. Some don't.
