The Bears got worse this year after trading for Claypool that’s crazy.
More on defense getting worse. The Bears got worse this year after trading for Claypool that’s crazy.
It's been a lot longer than 50 years since the Bears have had anyone you could call a "Franchise" QB if we're talking about the Bears.
They didn’t tear down their offense. It’s just really really bad.No. Bears intentionally tore it down, this was expected.
I still think packer fans are in for an awakening soon
Did a lot better this year than he did 14 years ago.Sure, but that is hard to sustain.
GB DC isn't good.
Yep. They have to explore that. They need to really evaluate Stroud and Young and see if they’re better than what they have. What is Justin Fields' trade value?
Scouts almost certainly like Young more than Fields coming out. It comes down to the Bears coach and if he wants to build around an elite running QB in Fields. Didn't seem like that was his plan at the start of the seasonYep. They have to explore that. They need to really evaluate Stroud and Young and see if they’re better than what they have.
What is his market? What is Justin Fields' trade value?
That's a great question. Baltimore would be the best fit but moving on from Jackson sounds outrageous tbh. Something about Houston seems right but maybe that's just meWhat is his market?
Would Houston rather have three years of control of a QB who is possibly the worst passer in the league over Stroud or Young?
I’d assume Carolina would have interest. Maybe Tampa, depending on Tom. Indy, possibly the Jets. Baltimore could, depending on how they handle Lamar.
Id imagine the best scenario for Bears fans at the moment (who love Fields) is trading down to 4 with the Colts, picking up a future 1st and maybe a 2nd as well and then watch the first 3 QBs go off the board 1, 2, 3 and then the Bears take Anderson at 4 who has a chance of being the best player in the draft. It was actually a nice day for the Bears. They have a good young QB to build around. They should be able to trade that #1 overall for a bundle of draft picks. They already have extra picks from their fire sale earlier this season. If they draft well, they should have a solid young team in a couple of years
hasnt the Colts used 2nds on all the retread Qbs they grabbed?Id imagine the best scenario for Bears fans at the moment (who love Fields) is trading down to 4 with the Colts, picking up a future 1st and maybe a 2nd as well and then watch the first 3 QBs go off the board 1, 2, 3 and then the Bears take Anderson at 4 who has a chance of being the best player in the draft.
A lot of the assumption of value of the #1 overall pick is based on Bryce Young being the clear top QB, though. If he isn't (guys like Sean Payton of all people already questioning whether undersized QBs should go top 15) then the pick loses most of its value. Although if Bryce Young is crazy high rated then I think the Bears could take him.
I believe they just have a couple of third round picks and a sixth rounder they're losing in 2023. The Texans and Seahawks do have way more ammo but I think its fair to suggest that the Texans didnt really care about the #1 overall pickhasnt the Colts used 2nds on all the retread Qbs they grabbed?
Or are they clear of all that now?
Pretty good odds.Hard to believe but the Bears haven't actually picked first overall in like 75 years. The only time in the SB era that they finished last, they tied the Steelers and lost the coin flip for Bradshaw. Having said that, what are the odds they trade out of that first for a bunch of picks? They need a lot of players on both sides of the ball, I think.
