Does the Luck contract relate to KC?

To say that top draft picks get big veteran contracts is absurd. You actually have to earn the second contract to an extent. That is why that second overall pick is getting jack crap and why KC is getting 20 mil. Russell Wilson got paid and he is a later pick. Oh, as for Luck, I would rather have KC.

Is Kirk proven? The answer is simple, NO. Did Kirk set most single season records for a Washington QB. The answer is yes. During the 2nd half of last season he was one of the best QBs in the NFL. Some would hold him back because he wasn't that for the first 7 games. Where I come from that is called progress.

If I was Cousin's I would laugh at $12 - $15 million too. The price of meat has gone up substantially.

I said this many times last year. Years ago the Skins had spent $1 million a year on a couple of QBs and it didn't go well. Along came Trent Green in his contract year and management was afraid to pay him after one good year. He left, they were wrong.

Laugh all you want, but I don't find Luck impressive at all. I find him to be inconsistent with accuracy and he takes too many sacks. He has all the flash but I don't see what all the fuss is about.

No. He could have a bad season and then you've committed a crazy amount to him. Make him prove he can do it again.

Ok but if he has a good season then the Skins are going to have to pay 22M or 23M per season for him. Why not lock him in now at 20M? He has even more weapons than last year so I don't get how he would take a step back.

Of course he could take a step back. Having weapons is no quarantee a QB will deliver the ball, if that were the case we would see receivers and not QBs at the top of every draft. The biggest difference between the '91 Redskins and '92 wasn't the weapons, it was the play of the QB. Bottom line is Kirk has had 1/2 of one good season to date, he is far from a done deal.

I would love to see you rank your top 20 or so QBs.

Actually it depends on the oline play. KC will have an improved run game and he has more weapons. which should lead to a good year.

yes they were wrong and we had stan humphreys and we let him walk too

the guy who had the record was jay schroeder ,, how did he end up ? i think you end up paying the guy what he is worth and if its 22-23 in 2017 or 20 mil in 2016 is just a matter of if you want to gamble

our weapons wont be there for ever we could lose garcon DJ davis all in 2017 so then what ? docston could be an answer crowder could be , but grant and ross are far from proven

Im just talking about 2016. We will have a lot of cap room next year even after signing KC. I think we will be able to keep one between Garcon and Jackson. IF Glaette has a double digit sack season he is also going to want big money.

one or both may not want to be here . DJ lives in CA his kid is there , he may choose the west coast . garcon just saw the team draft his replacement , he may decide to go to a contender , we dont know so seeing what KC can do is one way to go . think long term for a change

lol. I am thinking long term. That is why I want to see KC get a deal done. Very doubtful that you will see both WR(JAx and Garcon) go.

both of my scenarios are very valid both are 30 so their talent could drop off ass well

that has yet to be determined how they feel what their worth is

Very doubtful that both these guys command 10M per season. If it does happen they are going to have to have a career year. I think the ball is going to get spread around so much that not one guy is going to have huge stats. IF its someone that is going to have nice stats I would go with Reed.

again who said 10 mil is the magic number ? i certainly feel DJ could get that much on the open market if that is but garcon could want 7-8 mil

I would love to see you rank your top 20 or so QBs.

Tier 1 (proven and deserve the BIG contracts)- Brady, Rodgers, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson, Cam

Tier 2 (good enough or upside to warrant a big contract)- Rivers, Palmer, Ryan, KC, Bortles, Dalton, Luck

Tier 3 (young and not proven)- Mariota, Carr, Tannehill, Bridgewater, Winston

Tier 4 (seen their best and not worth the money)- all others
