This whole 'who is another choice' question that keeps cropping up...

I don't see a better option than Kirk at present, but in reality, fans don't need to present another choice, outside of debating the options or lack there of. Scot's the one who has to have a target in mind.

He and the front office wanted another year to evaluate Kirk. They better have a back up plan that's workable if Kirk walks. They've had a year to come up with one and that's why they get paid the big bucks.

And if he doesn't have one, he's not the guy We thought he was.

You two having fun? ;)

It's also possible that we wouldn't even make the dodge-offs because like the little retarded kids who get busted upside of the head, they get lost in their own thoughts.:pound:

To a degree you are right. But if fans are saying... Cousins is easily replaced..... it would be kinda interesting to know who they think this easy replacement is. So far the names thrown out have been guys who have failed else where, or smudged carbon copies of the guy who set this team back four years. Or rookies that most think will take some time to be adequate starters.

Exactly what I've been talking about since the first franchise tag. I'm scratching my head over that Nate Sudfield selection. Unless dude has something that they really believe in, it was a wasted opportunity to at least get a player that helps the team.

I'd bet Scot has kept tabs on all the 3rd and later QB picks scattered about the league and likely has a good idea who has a bit of potential for plan B. That's why I'm hoping this LTD gets hashed out quickly so plan A can be implemented from the get go.

You are willing to give Tyrod Taylor the benefit of the doubt. But our super smart GM who is a wiz bang at the draft doesnt even get two years on a 6th round rookie?? WTF??

Honestly, who knows where Nate is in the grooming process. We haven't heard diddly about him since training camp.

I have said before that it's possible that Nate Sudfield has something, but thus far nobody's seen it!

Also Scot has a history of selecting a QB in the later rounds every draft IIRC. That was Ron Wolf and Ted Thompson's approach and one that has served GB well. Remember too that Scot was stymied (pardon the pun!) with fewer draft picks than he likes or expected to have. Next year he's more on target with 9 so far.

Here's my bottom line, Keep Kirk, don't keep Kirk, go in a different direction or not, Taylor, Sudfield or someone else, at the end we get to add another Lombardi to the trophy case

The only name that even sparks any level of interest for me would be Tyrod and for exactly the reasons you brought up...Griffin light, without the attitude or propensity to not slide and protect himself. We've seen that work in this O before.

And I still prefer Kirk by far.

Actually we saw those traits work in an offense Kyle Shanahan tweeked for the skillset. The mobile QB thing didnt really work to well in JAy Grudens offense,
