Anything 28 and over is a called a Ohio fish and you get a certificate. But no one just floats around hoping to get lucky in today's world. The GPS has changed everything. You pinpoint small hotspots on large reefs and drop offs. But yes it is not as much fun as Canada fishing. But I fish to eat and I eat perch and walleyes like candy. mmmm 34? now that's nice. My biggest one ever was 34, ice fishing on Erie. 14.2 pound preggo.only fished it once years ago but crushed the walleyes. I even got a certificate from the state of Ohio for the large one, I think it was like 34" if memory serves. It was fun but to me floating on a huge vast lake just isn't the same as hunting for them on reefs and points in nooks and crannies of Canadian lakes.
But I have buddies who still go there, they love it, but they've told me of all the white bass.
