I'm starting to think that this thing has started to take a life of its own the last year or so especially when there was talk of Cutler being traded. The media has been quick to criticize Cutler especially recently when his wife was interviewed and made the mistake of saying they didn't like living in Chicago and wanted to move to Nashville when his career was over. The press had a field day with it and Cutler tried to smooth over any bad feelings trying to explain what she really meant.

Not sure if it is the vibe he puts off in interviews or the way he handles media and fans but he is not well liked at all. When you look at all this its a wonder that some teams are put off and would never want him no matter how good he is just based on the reputation that he has gained.

Now before today i didn't have too high of an opinion of Cutler and was very glad the Titans did not pursue him HOWEVER after looking back at some of his games, his statistics, etc. i think the team could've done very well if Fisher and company were able to draft Cutler in 2006 after all he loves Nashville and i think if he started here he might've been very happy being home and the state of his career as well as that of the Titans could've been much different. I think looking back at how well Cutler played especially his first three or four years i think this team could've won a Super Bowl in 2008 to go along with the defense we had along with Cutler and C.J. we would've been unbeatable.

Ironically as bad as Bud Adams wanted a ring it was his butting his head in and forcing the club to choose VY that ultimately caused us not to when all he had to do was butt out and let his GM and coach pick Cutler. Looking back especially early on and pretty much through his entire career Jay Cutler proved he was a capable starter and could win games. In his career he has 17 fourth quarter and 21 game winning drives along with a 61.7 completion percentage and an 85.2 passer rating. Those are pretty good numbers for a nine year vet QB......

Also Cutler bounced back in 2014 and had one of his best seasons in his career having the best completion percentage in his career, most touchdowns thrown in his career, second best year in completions, second best year in yards passing, second best in yards per game, second best passer rating. Never knew this until i looked into it but so much stuff including his reputation overshadowed the good he had done.

Jay Cutler is actually not a bad QB at all.

I do think that his attitude, sullenness at times, media, etc. has overshadowed his career at times.

Went back looked at games, highlights and what he did year to year and he is actually a pretty good QB BUT i think he has too many turnovers at times and that combined with his demeanor and attitude does overshadow the good he has achieved. I was also shocked that 2014 was basically his second best year overall and he actually had a career year as well in some categories. I thought not really paying attention that he wasn't playing well as of late and that perception was wrong.

Cutler to me if you look at him play or his stats over his career he was a capable starter that did very well at times however his issues with coaches and management have really taken a toll on his reputation enough to where teams might avoid bringing him in. In his career Cutler has completed 2,390 out of 3,871 passes,61.7% completed,27,750 yards,183 TD and 130INT with an 85.2 passer rating. He also has 17 fourth quarter and 21 game winning drives which is pretty good as well.

In 2006 he posted the second-highest TD percentage (6.6) and third-highest TD-to-INT ratio (1.8) among NFL rookies since 1970 and a 88.5 pass rating. In a VY/Cutler dual in 2007 Cutler posted a 137.0 passer rating (the second best mark for his career), going 16-of-21 for 200 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. Both of his touchdowns occurred on passing plays of over 40 yards. Cutler started all 16 games in the 2007 season, completing 297-of-467 passes (63.6%) for 3,497 yards, 20 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He was the NFL’s 12th-ranked passer (88.1) and also had the tenth-most passing yards (3,497). Furthermore, Cutler was the league’s ninth-best third-down passer, with a 92.1 passer rating and also had three game winning drives of which two were comebacks....

In 2008 he again played all sixteen games completing 384 of 616 passes (62.3%) for 4,526 yards,25TD/18INT with an 86.0 pass rating. His passing yards, completions and attempts were all single-season franchise records for the Broncos breaking John Elways records. He also had the most 300-yard passing games (8) in team history. For the season, Cutler ranked third in the NFL in passing completions (first in the AFC), second in passing attempts (first in the AFC), third in passing yards (first in the AFC) and seventh in passing touchdowns (third in the AFC). Cutler lead four game winning drives of which three were comebacks. He also completed a 93 yard pass play to Eddie Royal that year which was the longest of his career so far.

In 2009 he was traded to the Chicago Bears. Cutler started all 16 games completing 336 of 555 passes (60.5%) for 3,666 yards,27TD/26INT. Jay Cutler again had four game winning drives two of which were comebacks. In 2010 Cutler played in 15 games completing 261 of 432 passes (60.4%) for 3,274 yards,23TD/16INT with an 86.3 pass rating. That same year Cutler led the Bears to an 11-5 record and playoffs playing for new offensive coordinator Mike Martz who once led the Rams greatest show on turf. In Cutler's playoff debut against the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the 2010 NFC playoffs he finished with 274 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 43 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns in the Bears 35–24 win, making him the second quarterback in NFL history since Otto Graham in 1954 and 1955 to score two touchdown passes and two touchdown runs in a playoff game. That year he led four game winning drives and all were comebacks.

In 2011 Cutler started 10 games completing 182 of 314 passes (58%) for 2,319 yards,13TD/7INT with a 85.7 pass rating. That year the Bears were 7-3 on the verge of making the playoffs when Cutler was injured. Under Caleb Hanie/Josh McCown the team lost all the rest of their games but one. Cutler had one game winning drive in 2011. In 2012 Cutler started 15 games completing 255 of 434 passes (58.8%) for 3,033 yards,19TD/14INT with a 81.3 pass rating. Cutler finished the season leading the league in fourth-quarter passer rating with 114.7. In 2012 he had one game winning drive. In 2013 Cutler started 11 games completing 224 of 355 passes (63.1%) for 2,621 yards,19TD/12INT with a 89.2 pass rating. Cutler recorded passer ratings over 90 in the first three games and in his fourth had a 128.1 passer rating highest for a Bears QB since '96. Cutler also became the Bears all time leading passer this year as well. In 2013 Cutler led three game winning drives all were comebacks.

On January 2, 2014, Cutler signed a seven-year deal, keeping him with the Bears through the 2020 NFL season. For 2014 Cutler started 15 games completing 370 of 561 passes (66.0%) for 3,812 yards,28TD/18INT with a 88.6 pass rating and had one game winning drive.

If you look at what he has done in his career especially statistically he isn't that bad. I do think like i said his crappy attitude has hurt his career.

You are right he does throw interceptions at times but never once in nine years of playing has he thrown more interceptions than TD's. On average he throws 20TD and 14INT yearly. He has a career completion percentage around 62 percent. He throws around 3,000 yards per year. An 85.2 passer rating. Over nine years those are not bad numbers. I do think his attitude issues combined with too many turnovers at times has made him hated by media and fans alike.

Jay is making the same mistakes he was in his rookie season with Denver, QB's are supposed to get smarter with experience but Jay just seems to do what he wants whether it's working or not.

Can't say he does. His actions on the field do not back up his attitude off.

I do think that with his persona and attitude he is becoming known as being difficult and that may bite him down the road when he might need a new team to play with. Whats crazy is nine years into playing he pretty much had a career year last year the only tough part was a had a bit too many turnovers but he is a decent starter.

He's an average NFL starter who was brought in to be a superstar and who is paid like a superstar. He's not bad, but Chicago was expecting him to be more than halfway decent.

I remember the mood surrounding the trade for him, when it was widely believed that he was the last piece to win a title. And we've seen the end of the Urlacher/Briggs/Tillman era, with a defense that should have produced at least one title, and it has been squandered. For that, it's tough to consider him anything other than a failure.

I don't hate Cutler but I think he's jumped the shark. He looked really promising for a while which is why the Bears spent a fortune on him, but he just hasn't been very good. He's had some very good receivers too so that isn't an excuse he can use. He honestly seems to have all the talent in the world, can make incredible throws at times and sometimes looks unbeatable, but other times he just seems to check out of games completely if things aren't going his way. Him and Cam Newton (with the towel over his head) are the last two QB's I'd want to rally my team when they are down.

Jay consistently misses media appearances and seems bothered by any Chicago station that wants to reach out to him. Football is in the entertainment business. If a football player doesn't care about the fans or their city, then they might as well get the hell out because those people are the only reasons that you have a job. His lack of appreciation is unprofessional and childish.

He is a decent QB who is overpaid. He is obviously extremely talented, possibly the strongest arm in the league, but his decision-making is terrible. Part of the reason his completion % was high last year because of all the times he checked down instead of seeing - and throwing to - downfield open receivers. He turns the ball over too much...he committed the most turnovers among QBs last year, when you include fumbles lost, which is another of his problems. So his risk/reward isn't there. Andrew Luck throws downfield more, so while he gets his share of picks, he also pushes the ball downfield more. Most disturbing, he's well into his career, so the necessary improvement in his decision-making that would turn him into a top QB...well...let's just say I'm giving up on it ever happening.
