After Gordon had his first big TD run and you could tell that Nebraska was on the brink of melt down mode, Pelini is on the sideline yelling and screaming at players, in their faces, I said out loud "chill out Bo". This has probably been discussed in other threads but to me you know that you have an emotionally fragile team. It has been proven year after year under Pelini that when shit starts to hit the fan, the team curls up into a ball and takes it in the ass.

So when you know momentum is shifting and your team is on the verge of losing total control, why not show composure on the sideline? Pick your team back up. I'm not saying you have to coddle them, but when shit is hitting the fan and your coach is in meltodown mode himself, that cannot help.

Instead of berating your player after allowing a big play, maybe go over to him and say "Hey. Lot of game left, we're still in this fight. Let's go back out there and make a play"? But instead he goes over there and bursts blood vessels.

Eichorst is an AD, not a football coach. How the hell would he know which assistants to fire? If TO said fire A-B-C, then it would be an educated order. Eichorst is qualified to tell Bo where he can get a good deal on new jerseys.

And head coaches are ego driven to the extent that it is hard for them to admit (if at all) that they made a mistake hiring some assistants. Which is why a middle man (the AD) is sometimes put in this spot. I doubt seriously that TO had anyone in mind to replace Cosgrove--that wasn't his job. And at the time everyone and their dog knew Cosgrove was a big problem. Just as everyone and their dong knows now who ain't cutting the mustard.


College football is a big business. And the rise and fall does not fall soley on the head coaches shoulders. Eichorst has the authority to do this. The question is will he?

also Bo isn't going to let go of the D, so it wont' be Muschamp, it will still be Bo.

i completely agree with Bo chilling out. especially early in game. I mean keep it cool and coach up the players. I just don't see how you get a 17-3 lead and then start losing the team.

To an extent that 17-3 lead was smoke and mirrors. The offense wasn't responsible. It was more miscues from the Wisky offense and a sterling play or two from our defense.

If you guys think it is up to Eichorst whether Bo stays or goes, you have no clue. The donors are the ones calling the shots. They will let the AD know when they have seen enough of Pelini and Co. Once the check books close, that's when he will be looking for a new coaching staff.

Other posters have brought up Blow's coaching methods, idk how he acts in practice but on Sat he comes out of his shoes screaming at players, I've never found Fear to be a very good motivator for people that are counting on you to teach them lead and mentor them

In the really world if your CEO, president, owner, whatever, stands and says to the masses idk what to do or how to fix it, that dude is getting replaced no matter what his past record is

Texas Tech is claiming their ex-defensive coordinator is offering T Tech's signals to the other team.

At Nebraska, since the last three have been Kevin Cosgrove, Carl Pelini, and John Papuchis Nebraska cannot even claim that.

Speaking of Kevin Cosgrove he is the DC at New Mexico. New Mexico is ranked 116 in total defense under that tutelage. I guess I should be glad that John Papuchis is the DC compared to KC. But, I am not.

I don't think it's quite that simple. Considering the whine-fest Bo pulled last year, my guess is IF (and it's a huge if), Eichorst opts to let Bo go it won't be until after the end of the season. He (Bo) would be too big of a distraction if he were to be let go now.
