Going to be interesting how both teams approach this. Will they go all out or try to win without showing too much? Dodgers have a dumpster fire in Kenley Jansen. Wondering it Kelly is given the ball to close a game instead of KJ. If they don't figure this out it could be another wasted season .

Yankees are slumping a bit. Just got swept in Oakland.

If the Dodgers don't make the World Series, it will be a fail on their part, they're head and shoulders the best team in the NL. I'd still favor the Astros in the AL, and I think the A's are far more dangerous than people think.

How do you show too much in a 162 game regular season baseball season? Lol.

This isn’t football where you run a playbook.

Guys scheduled to pitch, pitch. Guys in the lineup go up and take their cuts.

If both teams collapse, they both still more than likely win their division. Dodgers definitely. But even if the Yankees collapse, the Rays would have to go on an unbelievable run to catch them.

8 games is a lot to make up in 33 games especially with no head to head remaining.

You can not pitch certain pitchers, you can manipulate your lineup and you can use relievers in situations you don't plan to use them in if you do meet up.

It's possible, but highly unlikely, and on the race chance it does happen, it gets talked about forever(unless you're the Red Sox and win the WS 2 years later, then people forget).

I'm also a Broncos fan in the NFL. After 12 games, they were 8-4 with a 4 game lead one year. They finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

Meh. The offense has gone into a bit of a funk, and it's really not all that surprising., What WAS surprising was how they kept winning with more Scranton Railriders in the line-up than Yankees. Seems that bill finally came due this week.

Nice thing about how well they've played through the first 129 games is they can go 17-16 the rest of the way and win 100. No one else in the division is gonna win 100.

But, gotta say, I'm not optimistic about matching up with that Houston rotation come October.

I remember the Jets started 10-1 one year in the mid '80s then lost their last 5 and missed the playoffs.

That was f*cking hilarious!

Good post. The A's amaze me every year, as one of the lowest payrolls in basball, they are good year in and year out.

Worst possible outcome, Yankees get yet another World Series win and their arrogant fairweather fans will never shut up. I'm all for the doyers losing three in a row, but not against the Yankees.
