Do you support expanding the playoffs to 14 teams?

The logical reason is that it waters down the regular season.


And that teams already have three opportunities to make the playoffs.


And that the 2 seed has earned a bye.


And that the number of quality late season games is cut by half, conservatively.


And that that added playoff game will be mediocre 90+ % of the time.

And all those points are 100% illogical,

Point 1. if the 2nd WC team deserves it then you can use that logic to show that the 3rd WC deserves it

Point 2. Why does the 2 seed deserve the bye?? just saying it does does not mean it does!!! and by using your logic the 2 seed was not the best team so how does it deserve anything???

3. How does the amount of quality games change?? It is very rare to see a team lose to lower their seed!!! and then the only teams games that are different from the current system is the 7th seed, if the others have clinched then they would have clinched in the current system... And the chances that the 7th seed has games where they can not improve their seed and they dont lose a playoff spot is very low!!! If anything this makes for more exciting late season games, because more teams may have the opportunity to make the playoffs...

plenty of room for improvement. scheduling is not completely fair unless all division teams play the non divisional games either home or away. you play the nfc west at home and the afc east away. you cant have two teams play seattle on the road and the other two at home and call it fair since the division is playing the same competition. does not sound like such a tough thing to do. top two teams should get a bye, based on record, not divisions. if the nfc west has the top two records they should get the byes. if there is an expansion, I would rather go to 8 and no byes.

I'm completely against it because the playoff system is just about perfect the way it is.

4 division winners and 2 wildcard spots so good teams that just had the misfortune of being in the wrong division make it.

I don't think adding a team is going to completely kill the intrigue of the NFL playoffs but it definitely isn't an improvement and it is another chip in the armour of the NFL.

My guess is they know they can't get an 18 game season so the next best thing is to squeeze in an extra playoff game.

Just because a little of something is good doesn't mean a lot of it is better.

It's easy to say "The more football the better!" but it won't always work out that way. I'd rather have a little less high quality football than a shitload of mediocre football. Don't dilute the playoff field any further please.

Besides, the NFL is supposed to be the big boy league. Nut up or shut up! If you want a shot at a ring win your division. Fail to do that there's a consolation prize called the wildcard. Don't qualify for that? Have a nice draft and see you next year sonny!
