Do you support expanding the playoffs to 14 teams?

No...I don't need more football...the current format works well imo. The only part I really like is only the #1 seed gets the week off...makes that carrot more valuable.

I will say...if I had to chose 18 gm season or 14 playoff teams, I would go with 14 playoff teams.

if 18 games then there would have to be 2 byes per team... and again i don't think that would be as bad as people claim... I am still against it as well, and i too prefer 14 playoff teams over 18 games...

It only affects 2 seeds, the #2 seed and the #7 seed... and only affect the #2 seed negatively...

So i don't think it is as bad as you people want to claim it is... With that said i don't like it either... But i don't think it is THAT bad of a move...

The 2 seed is about 1000 times more deserving of a bye than the 3rd wild card spot would be worthy of a playoff spot.

Just playing devils advocate here, but shouldn't only the BEST team deserve the bye??? Just because it has been done a certain way for so long doesn't mean it is the right way!!! In fact football is the only sport even with a BYE...

I would rather the two seed face a coin toss the wild card week than face a seven seed. That is how unworthy they are of a playoff berth.

That is the most foolish over exaggeration i have seen from you in a while!!! again the 7th seed does not affect anyone except the #2 seed, so basically the outrage is that everyone thinks the 2 seed deserves the BYE...

If they played the six seed in a wild wild card game, they would still be undeserving, and it waters down the regular season. Earn your spot or fuck off.

They should just let every team in the playoffs at this point. Even the bottom dwellers. How awesome would it be to see a team that went 1-15 and finished last place in the league end up in an afc/nfc championship game because they got hot at the right time. I know I would love it.....

The NFL really needs to learn to leave things as they are, as fans are happier than ever. Don't try and push more and more.

Just for this thread i think i will be for the change to 14 teams just because the reasons against it that people are giving are just not valid...

reason 1. The 7th seed does not DESERVE to be in the playoffs

How is the 7th seed or 3rd WC an outrage if there are already 2 WC that make it into the playoffs... Once you allow 2 WC, you can use the same logic to add as many WCs as you want...

reason 2- The 2 seed does not get the BYE anymore
Why does the 2 seed Deserve the BYE?? what did they do, they were not the BEST team in the league or conference... Not to mention football is the only Major sport that even believes that a team deserves a BYE.

Reason 3. 7 teams now is only opening the door for 8 teams in a couple years and that will mean HALF of football makes the playoffs!!!

whats the problem with being like basketball and hockey?? and who cares if it waters down the significance of making the playoffs- it wont water down the importance of the regular season because there is still major advantages of being a top seed(home field and playing a worse team)... its still a 3 round playoffs not counting the CHampionship game... There really is no difference except that now no team gets a BYE... If you are the best team you shouldn't need a BYE to beat inferior teams!!!

Unless their team is in no one gives a shit about the NBA or NHL playoffs until the end because there's too many teams in them and they go on forever. In the NFL every second of the playoffs counts. Adding more games and more teams would dilute the whole thing.
