Not sure tweets are fully admissible in a court of law - no proof who actually tweeted it

Also there's this thing called freedom of speech that allows people to express their personal feeling in a non-threat form. I'm honestly not sure if we even have that anymore though.

Gee they really gave mediation a shot didn't they. LOL

The league could have really helped themselves this year if they had gotten a deal done before the season. In the States it's almost like the NHL doesn't exist right now. Very sad.

Most juries, and by extension, courts accept tweets as statements since your account is password protected. Same with message board posts and emails. It is the responsibility of the user to protect his password and not share it.

And if it's tied to an IP address that they can place you at or near at the time, it's pretty much the same as telling a cop on camera.

I found this out recently when someone tweeted that they were going to blow up a bank branch because they over drew their account and the team of black SUVs went and had a chat with them. The tweet was viewed as a statement by the person and a terroristic threat.

Also there's this thing called freedom of speech that allows people to express their personal feeling in a non-threat form. I'm honestly not sure if we even have that anymore though.

The water is muddy because places like Twitter and Facebook are not public entities, they are privately held and have terms and conditions. When you say it on their sites, they own it and can do with it what they please. Including sell it to the highest bidder.

We do. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can way whatever you want free from any repurcussions.

Matty, I think Macallan just went to the top of my scotch list - If the 12 yr old is this smooth, I can only imagine how Macallan 18 goes down.

I brought my dad a bottle of Macallan 25 back from Heathrow a few years ago.
it was the only time I remember seeing him cry.
