Iggy is still one of my favo(u)rite players, but I thought the Canadian media was pretty harsh in their criticism of his play while treating Crosby with kid gloves. Hey, even Iggy admitted he didn't play well after game 4, but some of the piling on was over the top in my opinion.

I blame Dan for not using Iggy in the right places throughout the lineup. Still don't understand why we never saw Dupuis/Crosby/Iginla on a line together. And I still don't understand why Jarome didn't find space on the number one powerplay.

Would love to see Iggy get another year or two in the Burgh so he and Sid could have a real regular season to make a legit scoring line

But yeah, size is definitely a factor. There's a reason Toyko, New York, London, and Beijing are not tops on the list.

The DC/NoVa/Baltimore/Annapolis Metroplpex has gotten unmanageable, IMO.

No way Vancouver tops the list if affordable housing is a category...Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful city, but the housing prices are insane.

DC is ranked high, so obviously affordable housing was not considered. Just saw an episode of house hunters where a couple was looking for a condo in DC. It was roughly the size of my bedroom. for four times the cost of my house. But the parking space only cost 200/month.

You'd also be paid like $1.5M

And you could afford to live in vancouver!

The media simply can't say what they feel if they want to keep access, and when Iggy acknowledged he didn't play to the best of his ability the feeding frenzy turned to him. There are certain topics that are forbidden and Crosby, Shanahan, Bettman and the refs will never get negative coverage by anyone who wants a scoop sometime in the future. I think they wanted to blast everyone, but Iggy opened the door and he got the brunt of it.

It's incredibly unfair to Iggy, but will pretty much guarantee he won't stay. I would absolutely KILL to have him in Columbus.

I forget what "expert" brought it up on the radio but if the golden goal never happened ... the narrative probably would have been how poorly Sid and Iggy played together those 2 weeks during the 2010 olympics :noidea:

I've wondered, could Mario still lace them up and just be a PP, shootout guy? Could he still be an effective player? Obviously he'd have to borrow some of Jagr, Brodeur or Teemu's HGH.

Well, up until the golden goal, Sid had played a so-so tourney. I thought Iggy was pretty good though.

/Iggy has definitely lost a step though, maybe his style of play is more suited for the Western Conference?

Why is Neal considered a top 6 forward but Dupuis is not.

Dupuis does not get Power Play (well, got a few seconds this year), so taking away Neals PP goals

2012:
#18: 22 goals
#9: 25 goals

2013
#18: 12 goals
#9: 18 goals

For the past 2 yrs, Dupuis has out scored Neal 5-5 (well Dupuis did get a few shorties as well). Dupuis is faster, more defensive responsible, and quicker on the forecheck.

If Neal is considered top 6, but Dupuis is not, I need help in understanding what SportsHoopla deems as top 6.

I have no idea where Iggy goes...but I have a feeling that it could very well be back in Pittsburgh. He's only going to consider contenders, otherwise he'd just head back to Calgary. And I don't really see him running from team to team.

Neal's shot is much better. If Dupuis had Neal's hands, goodness...

I think Iggy closed the door on a return to Calgary when he sold his $4 million home (only 1 day on the market)

Still, you're a person of interest.

When am I not? I'm on more watchlists than I can count.

Hard to say what's motivating him now. He tried the "contender" route and got punched in the nuts for it. When he first made the move and when they crashed and burned.

I think he needs to come to a nice, quiet, supportive city with an organization that is on the rise where he can mentor some up and coming superstars.

James Neal is still relatively young and has shown his top end to be WELL beyond Dupuis. After 12 seasons, Dupuis has 374 points. In only 5 seasons, Neal has 254 points. Neil has already scored 40 goals in a season. Dupuis topped out at 25.

That help? To me, they aren't even close.

Hahahhahahahahahahahahahahah. It's really hard to see what he's gonna do...but for a guy that spent his entire career in one town, I have trouble seeing him bouncing around.
