Obviously talking all time, we don't have 100 starting WR in 2021.

Then what's the point of your statement? He won't be running against the fastest guy in 1992.

He;s running against sprinters not other football players. He might hang close for 50ish, maybe, then there they go.

Fine, but again you compared him to football players.

All in all, who the hell cares? If he gets hurt I'll care, but if he simply runs and loses, what's the big deal?

You don't just run a 100m, a 40....no problem. The 100m takes training or a guy can injure themselves. He is rolling the dice here and like you said.......for what, who cares?

And this guy doesn't strike you as someone who might train?

That is the last thing you want in a 100m.....bulk!!!! 228 pound sprinter, nay!

Works like this....

All fast football players can scoot a 40, actually hang with sprinters at that distance, then after around 50ish you will need.....speed endurance....that is the ability to maintain/sustain your topend that max velociity, this takes training, you don't just have it you have to build it. After around 80ish meters now here comes that deceleration phase, those with superor speed endurance decellerate at a slower pace, which is a huge advantage. Football players have none of that, ah......since HS/NCAA track.

Ok, so he'll lose. So what? If he comes out unscathed it's a nonstory

DK Metcalf could really qualify for the 100M Olympic Trials

The day after his legendary chase-down play, DK Metcalf received a lighthearted Twitter invitation to join the USA Track and Field team.

He's now on the precipice of calling an Olympics-sized bluff.

According to NBC Sports, the Seahawks receiver plans to be one of 16 competitors running the the 100-meter dash at USATF's Golden Games and Distance Open, a precursor to Olympic Trials.

The event will take place on Sunday in Walnut, California. And judging by Metcalf's own Twitter account, he views his entry as anything but a joke.

100 no...
200 yes...

A 228 pounder running a 200m, nope!

Here is his competition

BACON JAYLEN - PR 9.97, SB 10.18 (10.10 +2.3)
BAKER RONNIE - PR 9.87, SB 9.94
BELCHER CHRIS - PR 9.93, SB 10.30
DOS SANTOS FELIPE BARDI - PR 10.10, SB 10.10 (10.02 +2.6)
EADY MAURICE - PR 10.11, SB 10.29 (10.26 +3.0)
GILLESPIE CRAVON - PR 9.93, SB 10.13 (10.10 +2.4)
GREENE CEJHAE - PR 10.00, SB 10.00 (9.98 +2.7)
KING KYREE - PR 9.97, SB 9.97
METCALF DK - PR N/A, SB N/A
QUINN DEVIN - PR 10.01, SB 10.23 (10.23 +2.1)
ROBINSON BRYCE - PR 9.99, SB 10.10
RODGERS MICHAEL - PR 9.85, SB 10.13 (10.05 +3.0)
UJAH CJ - PR 9.96, SB 10.31 (10.06 +3.0)
WILLIAMS KENDAL - PR 9.99, SB 10.29 (10.14 +4.5)
YOUNG ISIAH - PR 9.92, SB 10.18 (10.02 +3.0)

I had no idea he'd be in with level of talent, now it really makes no scense. Putting things in perspective, the great Bob Hayes ran a 10,06, Darrell Green 10.08, look at the times there. Poor Dk, this will be ugly.

Don't get me wrong, he has no chance but the 200 would be a better event.

Well one of the biggest sprinters we've seen John Regis from Great Britian was a stud 200m man.

Looks like a runing back.
