You’re awful judgmental when you’ve never had to endure your baseball team choking in the playoffs every year, watch the local NFL team blow a 28-3 Super Bowl lead or the top college draw in the state get beat in the national championship game by a second and 26 play in overtime.

People in the state are hungry for a championship. I’m not in the kill Freddie crowd, but I understand where the people who are are coming from.

In 2002 it had been forever since the team won a world series in San Francisco, because they never had.
My point is not about how tortured a fan base is, it's about not feeling tortured by sports at all. It's just sports.

I haven't been following the Houston/Tampa series closely enough--Is there any potential for jersey burning/bobblehead decapitation or anything cool like that? I can't imagine any kind of strong reaction if the Rays lose. They seem to be doing it with smoke and mirrors and a 65 million payroll.
