Disappointed but at peace

Winning the WS last year makes this year so much more tolerable. I am disappointed but I'm also willing to finish this year's ride without complaining about everything that didn't quite go our way. It's not over just yet but the fat lady is in pretty good form at the moment. I can live with what's happened this year. DFAing RoRo and Tejada tells me that they are looking forward and things will and have changed. This could be a real interesting off season for us fans. This may be a December to remember.

This year was a 1000X more of a fluke than last year was. I have NEVER seen a team get as completely decimated by injuries the way this team was.

I am leaving the season positive because the end result was that we picked up Keppy (I think he is a GREAT bu 2B) and we lost RoRo (HUGE gain for '12).

The 2010 buzz is still tangible as well, so maybe 2012 will be the hangover.

+1 to both posts. Sad year but still so close to 2010 that it doesn't hurt much, and unlike say the 2003 Marlins or whomever, we have a solid young core that should be able to make the playoffs a few more times, which is all you can hope for, a ticket to the crapshoot.

There are some positives from this year:

1. Pablo got his fitness together and returned to Panda form;
2. Belt and Craw have looked good at times;
3. Kepp was acquired;
4. FYWW has showed amazing depth and will allow Affeldt to be expendable;
5. The FO has showed the sack to cut useless old vets despite $ considerations; and
6. Surkamp may have arrived.

All in all, a lot to look forward to in 2012 even if we don't make the playoffs this year.
