This would be the actual NFL Fastest Man, this is based on what these guys did on the track

1.Bob Hayes 9.1/10.06 both world records
2.Sam Graddy Olympic 100m silver medalist/10.09
3.Ron Brown Olympic 100m 4th place/10.06
4.Trindon Holliday 10.00.........when talking times this close, accomplishments trump
5.Jacoby Ford 10.01
6,Alvis Whitted 10.07
8.Darrell Green 10.08
9,Johnny Jones 10.2ish but....Olympic 6th place
10.Cliff Branch 9.2 100 yards
11.Curtis Dickey 10.10
12.Willie Gault 10.11
13.James Trapp 10.14
14.James Jett 10.16
15.Tyreek Hill 10.19

Bo Jackson never broke 10.30, Deion Sanders a 10.26 guy, Randy Moss had one indoor season at Marshall,

I won;t use Jimmy Hines 9.95, Frank Budd 9.2 because they did nothing in the sport, and Jeff Demps 10.01 didn'r either.

The fastest white dude was John Roderick a 9.3 out of SMU

Nehemiah is another guy, he was a world record holding hurdler of course but I seem to recall him running a very fast split at the Penn Relays one year. And his football career seems like enough for inclusion here.

He was a 10.17 guy.

Tim Dale was a 45.5 400 guy back in the day, he spotted Nehemiah 15 yards at those Penn Relays on a 4v4 leg, Nehemiah ran him down spitting a sub45.00. He would also run down LSU hurdler Orlando McDaneil on the anchor of a 4x2,

This may interest some. I stopped reading when it had Joe Namath listed @ 30 and gave him all the credit for the Jets Super Bowl win. Spoiler alert - Brady's listed @ #2.

Good material if you want a laugh that’s for sure

Cam Newton even making the list got my attention. Troy Aikman & Eli in the top 7 .. and Elway at #1? Ridiculous. Namath was pretty good his first 5 years when he threw for more yards his first 5 years than anyone in history. That would not be topped until Marino's first 5 years after the season was extended to 16 games and the rules changed to favor the passing game. Btw, he did have a very good super bowl.

They included Cam because he’s the best pouter of all time.

Assessing the chances of a player from 60-70 years ago competing physically at the position in today's NFL. For this I'm discounting the X & O advances. This is strictly based upon the physical capabilities the position calls for under the current rules.

In descending order from no way in hell, to sure.. why not.

Placekicker - Not a chance. Soccer style kicking changed the game as did the money one can make by being "just a kicker". It's a fine tuned specialist position now. Most of the old timers played other positions, but even Jan Stenerud wouldn't get on the field these days.
DB - Too slow. Can't mug the WR until the ball is in the air anymore. For my money these guys are the best athletes in the game. It's remarkable just how good these guys are in coverage. They're just so much better than even 30 years ago, much less 70.

OL - Too small. Too slow. They'd get run over and around. There might be a couple of exceptions, but I can't think of them.
DL - Ditto.
LB - Ditto.

QB - Passing the ball is passing the ball, 70 years ago or today and that's what they get paid for. While it's difficult to assess relative passing ability, it's not something that is imo dependent upon physicality.
RB - There was some serious talent at RB and some of those guys would at least find PT today.
WR - Ditto. There's a place for possession guys in today's game that a few of them could fill.

I said it was from least to most likely, but it's really basically 3 categories of likelihood.

Pretty much this.

The idea that NO QBs from back in the day could play today is BS. Guys like Manning (Archie), Tarkenton, and Stabler were extremely mobile, while Peyton and Brady weren’t/aren’t. All of them could have played in any era.

I totally agree about those you mentioned, it's when we start talking the 40's and 30's. That is something totally different.

How do we do the top 30 QB's of all time?

I tried about a half dozen times and just can't do it. What to do with Bradshaw, all those SB wins, the dude with more INT than TD, same with Namath, so....???

Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson vs Favre, Young, Moon, ???

Otto was the most dominate QB ever, but he spent how many years in the old AAFC? Johnny U vs Philip Rivers, Rivers far better stats, Unitas a legend.

What to do with Kurt Warner, Roger Staubach always gets props yet he is not on all time stat lists.

Obviously Tom Brady is THE GOAT, and we gotta go with Montana next, then Peyton, Brees? Marino?

Gotta give Slingin' Sammy some love it pretty much all started with this Horned Frog.

Eli is way up there with stats, hell he won two SB's but it just seems wrong talking the greats and....Eli Manning.

John Elway always gets a lot of respect, check out his numbers, ouch!!!

Dan Fouts had the greatest collection of weapons ever seen on one team together, do we hold this against him?

The Snake also had a lot of help with Casper, Biletnikoff....Hall of Famers and Cliff Branch who should be a HOFer

Cam making the list solidifies it even more. That a shitty list. I know passing was a different animal back then, but damn. The only thing that can be said about Namath's stats (when he was supposed to be all that) is that he threw for a lotta yards. His first 5 years he was a pubic hair above 50% completion and threw more INTs than TDs. Be that as it may. I can understand why you think Namath had a pretty good Super Bowl game though. He completed 60% of his passes and didn't throw an INT. That had to be damn near astounding back then.

Like I mentioned love to see an effort, and all that is great, but ya keep acting as if I just started watching football. I turn 72 in July, been into pro football since the days before the Dallas Cowboys who came real close to being called the Rangers. Hell, the first Cowboys were the Kansas City Cowboys.

Anyway.....

Why do you keep telling me all this stuff, nothing you can say will change the fact Philip Rivers puts up better numbers vs far better athletes than Montana, Marino, Fouts ever faced. He throws lazers into tight windows, he is accurate, and precise. Dan Fouts simply didn't have the arm Rivers has and this a Cali guy who saw them play many many times telling you that.

I am first and foremost a track guy, my first sport is sprinting, none of the old time greats can hang with these guys today. hell high school kids are running faster than past Olympic champions. All sports fans get the era thing, ok?
How can you not GET what he is trying to show you?
