Wondering if anyone else thinks this cost him?
Not even a little. Where it's going to hurt him is when the discussion starts to be about the best ever.
And even that won't be effected much in the long run.
Now imagine if he pulls off another SB win. Something tells me he is going to be playing a bit pissed off this season.
He's always going to be known as a liar and a cheater who played for a team that cheated. Whether you think it's fair or not, that's going to be a big part of his legacy.
Only by the weak minded.
No, absolutely no. He deflated footballs a little. Cheating, yes. Liar after it came out, yes. Douchebag, probably...but we are talking about taking a little air out of Footballs. This is no way diminishes anything he has accomplished.

I know you want to believe this, but it's not the truth. An overwhelming majority of Americans view both Brady and the Patriots as cheaters. This isn't the type of thing that goes away over time. It sticks. I'd like for Ryan Braun to eventually repair his reputation but that isn't happening, either.
Why? Making it easier to throw, catch, and hold on to the ball seem like pretty significant things.
Long stretch between Braun and Brady/Patriots
Except it turned out the difference in pressure was minimal. This whole story got it's legs from Chrissy Mort putting out that 11 of 12 were 2 psi under. Turned out to not even be close.
How? Both were caug
But they were way under what they should have been. They were deflated by a member of the Patriots after they had been certified by the refs. This fact is basically without dispute.

1 - taking a little air out of a ball doesn't do much. 2 - He was a first ballot HOF before deflate gate.
Actually it's completely in dispute. The report showed no evidence of it happening. The report was written to ignore all exculpatory evidence and highlight adjusted evidence, i.e. questioning Walt Anderson in a manner that fit the investigator's preconcieved narrative.
And no they were not way under.
