by the way, Mizzu always has great offenses under Pinkel. That includes his time in the SEC. They won the East a couple times. He left and Mizzu faded

A&M didn’t have an amazing offense in the BIg 12. They actually hit their offensive heights the 1st couple seasons in the SEC
I'm aware Mizzou won the division a couple of times. The East was also fairly mediocre when they first joined the SEC. Hell, Mizzou lost to a bad Indiana team one of the years they won the East.

A&M wasn't amazing, I'm aware. However, they're mediocre in the SEC now while pulling in great recruiting classes. If they were still in the Big 12, they would probably be contending for the conference.

last year Clemson had an elite defense. No idea how god they are this year. They haven’t played much of anyone
I feel like we have a decent idea, but you're right about their schedule.

What makes you think so?

They'd contend about as frequently as they always did IMO.

In fact, both football teams from the two flagship universities in Texas ain't too swift in football right now. At least not what they should be IMHO.

Looking like they ain't in basketball either! (A&M women's hoop look pretty good.)

Because their recruiting has dramatically improved. Now, the coaching side of things is still suspect, that's for sure. They're pulling in talent like they never have before though.

You're right about the flagship schools, they both stink horribly.

What was debunked? Tom Herman going to see Jackson or Tom Herman saying he is stupid? If it was what he said about Jackson I don't see how you can debunk that. The proper term would be denied saying it but unless your are saying he never visited Jackson but again, do we really know if he didnt?

He was offered by Ohio State, Lamar Jackson Recruit Interests
And Tom Herman was on staff at Ohio State during Lamar's' Junior and Senior years of high school.

Anyway, yeah.

Believe it or not, Sherman recruited pretty damn well. Sumlin inherited some damn good talent. Manziel's O-Line and WRs were NFL caliber as evidenced by the draft that followed.

Last 5 seasons in Big 12
Texas was a perennial superpower getting most of the in state recruits, making it harder for A&M
A&M class ranks: 34, 16, 27, 16, 19

Last 5 seasons in SEC
Texas has been mediocre and often loses many of the in state recruits, giving A&M better chance
A&M class ranks: 4, 17, 13, 18, 11

They get a little bit of a bump, but it is hardly some great recruiting revolution for them since joining the SEC.
And it probably has more to do with Texas being (7-5) than A&M simply being in the SEC.

Texas goal year in and out is to beat OU. If they do that, they're aces.

Texas hired Herman because he figured out how to beat OU. Once at UH. Once at UT.

Seeing as how Herman is 3-1 vs OU since at UT, my guess is Herman isn't the Sooner killer they hoped for. Only team that has made OU look awful the past decade is Clemson, but I don't see Dabo going to Texas even if they offered him the planet.

Fuck Texas and horns down!

TAMU was the runaway best offense in the mighty SEC it’s first two years there. They were barely mediocre in the B12. Quit arguing.

Urban was hc at the time. Herman didnt have the final say on who gets an offer and who doesn't.
