It’s more likely than not that the DL infringes upon the neutral zone more often than the OL does. People don’t understand how much effort and practice the Eagles put into this.

The fix is in. Goodell isn’t even supposed to be in charge of this stuff but here we are.

3 years worth of data at play here. There is no increased injury risk. Yet again I’m reminded that your screen name is not a funny quip. It’s a public service announcement.
so why is the similar play banned for defenses due to safety issues?

Living rent free in the heads of other fans, I love it.

Jarntt says he doesn't think about the Eagles, but he's just obsessed with banning their best play right?

The play every other team can run too but seemingly can't run nearly as well?

At this point I expect it to be banned. And I expect Jalen Hurts to run it down their throats in short yardage anyway. It's going to be beautiful.

I expect more luvus to start coming over the line. Should be interesting to watch teams trying to figure it out. They haven’t yet. I do think it’ll be ref’d a little tighter, it has too much attention now

That was the dumbest attempt I’ve seen to try and stop the play. Once a player leaves his feet he loses power and leverage. At the same time, that Washington defense was an unmitigated abortion. There was nothing they could do to stop anything the Eagles did outside of hitting Hurts late and concussing him.

The qb is the target on that play. That’s the risks he takes. If I were trying to defend it I’d send a spear over the LT as well. That’s usually where the egg head goes. After all, they are the Redskins (spear chuckers)

When did I say I don't think about the Eagles? How can I be on this forum year round and not think about the Eagles? That's moronic. I said Cowboy fans aren't obsessed over the Eagles and Cowboy twitter isn't obsessed with the Eagles like everyone in the world knows the Eagles fans are obsessed over the Cowboys. It's literally a sickness. It's the entire city. Stop even trying to pretend it's not true. You've now sunken to attempting to turn it around the other way which is just ridiculous.

The play: I don't think you should be able to push the ball carrier. This goes for both behind the LOS and downfield, My bigger issue is when lineman who aren't even engaged in the play run up to the pile and start pushing it. The whole thing just isn't football and it never was allowed when I was growing up and until like what 15 or 20 years ago? I've probably said that multiple times in this thread (or elsewhere on this forum). I'm not sure why they changed it. But, that's not an Eagles thing so stop trying to transfer your obsession onto me. Also, I've said on the Eagles specifically it doesn't even matter because their QB sneak is still going to be almost 100% successful.

I don't even get why the topic is such a big deal other than insecure Eagles fans wanting to put their dog masks back upon and cry that the league is out to get them. You could already see what was going to happen at the end last year Teams are starting to use TEs or RBs or whomever to run the play. Whether it's 98% with one team or 95% successful with another has little significance over a season. It's one or two conversions. It actually would help Dallas more if they used a player back there other than Dak like many other teams started doing. Dak is horrendous on QB sneaks for a big QB. He doesn't get low, he doesn't get any leg drive and he doesn't pick a hole. He seems to snap it and take a hitch backwards and then push left or right. I've said for years they need to have him watch video of Brady doing it. They convert at a high rate because they don't even try it unless it is just inches. But they so often fail on 3rd and 4th and short on handoffs. But. If they switch to using a guy like Ferguson and then push him they'd probably benefit more than most teams. If it isn't banned I'm expecting the new OC (was an OL Coach) will implement something like this so if it is around I think it will benefit Dallas. McCarthy just didn't have the brain power to do anything new or different. That was a big part of their problem on Offense. When your talent isn't great you need to have better coaching, They had neither. Hopefully this year they at least have one.

Oh and come on man, if you don't understand that Mike Leach post was a joke...there is no hope for you. Personally I'd try that in a big spot with Deuce Vaughn if he makes the team

I'm just busting your chops a bit after you said you never think of Eagles players. I would freely admit that I love ragging on the Cowboys, but not sure most Eagles fans are still obsessed with the Cowboys to be honest. Most of the younger ones don't have any feelings about the rivalry because frankly Dallas ain't done shit their entire lives, so they don't see it, they get more tweaked by teams like the Niners that talked a bunch of crap in recent years (and cashed no checks).

Injuring guys isn't the answer for not being able to stop them. It will be interesting to see what changes this year when they call the offsides much tighter. People were saying it will hurt the offense, but from what I see I think it hurts the defense more. Those guys were always offsides

THIS is unfortunately something I can't argue nor will I even try and like I said somewhere on here recently the Eagles fans, I guess like all fans, are nowhere as bad as they once were. The stories about Yankee fans during the '77 season in "the Bronx is Burning" were nuts.

The guy who I think is most injury prone on the tush push is the center who has to snap the ball and get super low to form the wedge of the formation. Jason Kelce basically talked about how the play was taking years off of his life. Cam Juergens had a hurt back by the end of the season and Landon Dickerson had to step in and play some center, and was also hurt. I think it's tough on those interior linemen.

Next year Packers will try to pass a rule blocking players from running too fast. It's just not fair that not all don't move at the same speed.

I think the injury thing is mostly a red herring from those wanting to criticize it. Has any player been hurt on the play yet?

There is zero evidence that the play leads to injuries, data wise. Too small a sample size basically, but no, no known injuries from the play.

I think it's a lot of wear and tear to execute for the linemen though. They're also getting pushed in the back while trying to knife forward, so lots of bodies slamming into those guys at different angles.

Right, I'm not disagreeing with any of that, but that's theory and assumption. You can say it's more heads banging on every play and how can that not lead to concussions/injuries, but my point is there is no (or very few) instance of a player carried off the field after a "tush push". So the argument isn't very strong to me even though common sense tells you that maybe it should be.

So the goal isn’t stopping the play. It’s trying to spear the QB in the head.
