Miggy did not seem as happy as he should have been after hitting a walk off homer.

That was my thought. He hits a walk off and not even a smile... not that I caught anyway. In fact he didn't look happy at all, much less as happy as he should have been.

Although I want Avila fired first it probably won't happen. Ausmus, however, needs to go ASAP!

Unless the ballclub has solid proof that Ausmus is costing them games....why replace him if his replacement is going to likely be Legendary Lloyd? Avila Sr needs to be shown the door. Draft is over, no excuse to wait. If the new GM want to can Ausmus....fine....but I hope he goes outside the organization to get a new manager. (meaning: a few coaches leave WITH Ausmus).

I really doubt that Detroit will have a fire sale. They just don't have that many players they can move....either because of bloated contracts, age, or lack of talent. It would be nice to see a major shake-up but I don't know how they can pull it off unless they eat BIG $$$$ (or Dombrowski gets itching about spending cash on old guys, over in Boston.)

Some think the interim manager would be Omar Vizquel. If that is the case, might not be a bad move to see how he handles the team. I don't think firing Ausmus gets the team into the playoffs, but I do think there are issues with him and the players at this point.

I do agree that Avila needs to go, not sure he has made a single really good move to this point.

Have you watched players loafing it down the first base line lately? Multiple occurrences where several guys are completely dogging it. A sure sign that guys are giving up. You've at least got to give the infielder a hint that you are hustling, and perhaps get him to hurry his throw.

I'm not watching the team nearly as much as I used to. They just aren't fun to watch, so I can't disagree with what you are saying. Perhaps I didn't say it well, but I very much believe the players are at odds with Ausmus, meaning his time here is pretty much over.

If you had replaced Ausmus before the season, sure this team could've won the Central. At this point, with the team they have, there is no way they can make up that much ground. They simply aren't good enough to go roughly 58-35 the rest of the way and beat out Cleveland. That is all I'm saying, changing managers won't get the team in this season.
