The scouting report I read coming into spring training said Jimenez fastball was 95+ and has a tight slider that is passable, but he had not developed a changeup to use off his fastball. Major league hitters can hit 95mph fastballs and can then adjust to a slider....he will need something off-speed. LOL. To bad he can't borrow K-Rod's 88mph fastball as his changeup.

Okay, Tiger fans... If only gave you the stats below through 7 games, what would you guess the Tigers record to be?

* Your 3-4-5 hitters are batting a combined .175 with 0 home runs and 4 RBI.
* Your best hitter is 3-for-35 (.125) with 0 home runs and 0 RBI.
* Your bullpen ERA is 6.95 and the bullpen has twice given up 5 runs in an inning.
* One of your two setup guys was demoted to AAA after less than a week.

Of course the numbers I didn't give are these: Starting pitchers have a 2.70 ERA and 6 quality starts through 7 games.

Starting pitching can cover a lot of weaknesses, and I know the hitting will come around. If the bullpen can be at least "average", this team (given good health, of course) has a chance to make a playoff push.

Kid they brought up hasnt pitched in relief this year. (I'm using the term kid loosely there.) Guessing he's the long man? Idk

Nothing ever makes sense with pitching moves under Avila.
