Greene had a good record with the Tigers before he gor hurt. What was his record before he got hurt?

He gave up one run in his first three starts last year, which was ridiculous. He went downhill quickly after that. Over his next several starts, he had an ERA over 9.00 and was sent to Toledo. I'm not sure exactly when he was hurt. By August, they had diagnosed him with a pseudoaneurysm in his throwing shoulder, and he had surgery to repair an artery shortly after. When exactly that injury started messing with his delivery is unknown.

LOL, CBSsports.com writers picked three different Tiger pitchers to be the biggest "bust" of 2016. I don't know how bad of a season Pelfrey would have to have to be considered a bust...I mean, he already sucks balls going into the season.

I saw that Pelfry prediction too. Kind of scary. What is this guy expecting Pelfry to do? Go 0-8 in his first 10 starts with an ERA of over 9.00? Not that Pelfry couldn't do it........

Not a lot of ''love'' for the Tigers in that article. No one picked them higher than third. One guy picked them 5th. I think the media's thought were, "Yeah, they have good bats, and name players....but they're old and injuries will be a problem." So along comes ST. Maybin gets hurt early on, followed by VMart. Then Sanchez, Norris, Wilson, Hardy have arm/back issues....and their pitching wasn't that good to start. The team kind of played into what many "Prognosticators" predicted.

Three homers for JD. Not getting too excited. I don't think any of the Yankee pitchers were scheduled to be on their opening day roster....unless they are replacing an injured player.

Yeah, Pelfrey is bust-proof imo.

Zimmerman would have to tank pretty bad to be a bust. Brought in to be a #2, we'd have to see his ERA jump nearly a full point again for him to be a huge bust.

I'm a KRod fan and glad we have him, but I think he has the best odds of a disappointing season.

Yep, I think there is a complete lack of trust that this Tigers team can stay healthy, and ST kinda supported that.

The best thing about K-Rod is he puts some other bullpen pieces back into less important roles. The closer situation last year (Nathan injury, Soria trade, etc.) put some RPs in positions they were not suited for. That said, I can understand the bust prediction for K-Rod, given the volatility of closers, especially as they approach their mid-30s.

I'm actually more worried about Lowe & J. Wilson being a decent R/L setup combo than I am about K-Rod.

Barring last-minute injuries, the Tigers 25-man MLB roster is set (as announced on Freep.com). 33-year old Logan Kensing gets the last spot in the bullpen, though he's likely just keeping a seat warm for A. Wilson or Hardy, whoever returns first.

CATCHERS: James McCann, Jarrod Saltalamacchia

INFIELDERS: Miguel Cabrera, Ian Kinsler, Jose Iglesias, Nick Castellanos, Mike Aviles, Andrew Romine

OUTFIELDERS: Justin Upton, Anthony Gose, J.D. Martinez, Tyler Collins

DH: Victor Martinez

STARTING PITCHERS: Justin Verlander, Anibal Sanchez, Jordan Zimmermann, Mike Pelfrey, Shane Greene

RELIEF PITCHERS: Francisco Rodriguez, Mark Lowe, Justin Wilson, Drew Verhagen, Buck Farmer, Kyle Ryan, Logan Kensing

DISABLED LIST: Cameron Maybin, Daniel Norris, Alex Wilson, Blaine Hardy, Angel Nesbitt, Jeff Farrell

I'm with you on Lowe and Wilson too. KRod just has a lot of mileage on the tires is all. Still happier with him as closer than I have been with anyone in recent memory. Atleast since Rodney. (Soria only got a few months, so I'm not really counting him.)

NOW!!! Now is the time! D'Backs have probably lost centerfielder AJ Pollack for the season. They are desperate. Let's see if Avila can grab some good young talent for Mr. Gose. (Detroit can fill in in CF for a couple of weeks with Collins or some AAA type). D'Backs have two good looking young 3B in Lamb and Drury. They also have young arms in Braden Shipley and Archie Bradley that should be ready this year.

Good, as long as the bullpen does what what they're supposed to do. Win.. No more losing in the 9th inning because the closer messed up again is what I don't want to see. It's a new season :hope:. Go Tigers
