i would be more worried about it if his minor league numbers weren't absolutely dominant. its one thing to be a solid minor leaguer and struggle.. but rarely does a guy have a career minor league era of 2.48 with a whip of .989 and struggle the way boyd did. i am not saying the guy is front line starter material... but when you k 9.2 per inning and only walk 2.1 per inning over 3 years in the minors you probably are going to be better than what he showed last year.I'm not from Missouri, but I guess I say, "Show Me." Boyd hasn't demonstrated the ability to get MLB hitters out consistently YET. Doesn't mean he won't.
