Matt Boyd, who was optioned to Toledo as part of a roster shuffle earlier this week, will be activated and start for the Tigers on Tuesday at Chicago, Ausmus confirmed.

* Michael Fulmer's next start hasn't been announced, but it will likely be Saturday or Sunday against Baltimore. Justin Verlander and Daniel Norris are in line to pitch the other two games in that series next week, although the order has yet to be announced.

Need this win...
What you talking about Willis? I don't think there is a question about Iggys glove.....

Not sure, but Fulmer's next start might be his last. ESPN interviewed Gene Lamont after yesterday's game and Gene says he is concerned about Fulmer's xFIP-, his SIERA and -WPA. Gene says if those are down after the next start, he'll be on the phone to McHale and Dombrowski upstairs. He says he also noticed that Fulmer is eating all the pasta salad on the buffet table after the game and that is not a good sign.

He's played third.

This is Aybars third start there.

And he didn't have a ball hit his way in his second start.

Baltimore is losing.....Tigers need to keep them in sight. Even if the Indians can't be caught, Detroit should be in a good position for a Wild Card spot.

Detroit should have "Avila's Pitching Package" all available for the last couple of weeks: Zimmermann, Pelfrey, and Lowe.

Some year soon the Tigers will have a shutdown bullpen. The law of averages says it must happen...given enough time.

Just like some year, the EMU football team will win more than 3 games in one season. It has to happen some year. (Maybe they could get the guys who created the Wolverines 2016 schedule, to work out one for EMU?_

Soria is another relief pitcher that got an ill-advised three year deal.

I don't think there are more than a half dozen relief pitchers in all of baseball that I would give a three year deal too. Two years max. These guys can be near MVPs one year and a liability the next.

Rommie started....
Good.

I don't like learning to play a position on the fly during the home stretch of the season.

Even if Romine doesn't know how to run the bases. (It was IN FRONT of you dumbdumb, go back to second.)

LOL. Upton with 20 homers now. I can hear it now. He'll end up with around 24-5 homers and 70+ RBI and wiggle his way to a .245 BA and Tiger fans will say "he wasn't really that bad"....forgetting what a waste particle he was for the first three months of the season and his roughly 175 Ks. (Well, at least that's what Avila will put on his resume..."He wasn''t all that bad".)
