Everyone hit his butt today because Shields sucks this year......Those numbers are probably from a career when shields actually pitched good......Much like Sanchez.....He sucks this year.....Anyone can hit him, why would the other team bat someone with 2015 stats when sanchez sucks this year but not last year.....God I hate stats.....

Muzz is sort of this threads dougplayer. Minimal understanding of how the modern game is played. If I knew how to find it quickly, I'd post the article on the probability that the MLB season will be shortened back to 154 games when the next player contract comes up. Players asking for more time off due to wear and tear of travel schedules and lack of planned days off at home. Very few players play 160 games anymore. Owners don't want fewer games - maybe compromise with some Day-Night Doubleheaders added to schedule.

Looks like it is the Tigers' turn to have a good sized winning streak. With a little help they can cut the Indians lead to nothing in a week or so. And put themselves into one of the Wild Card spots.

Tigers are going with a 3 man bench - partly because they are carrying Lowe on the roster as a 13th pitcher. I understand the money thing....but on the surface it appears pretty stupid.

Yup and that's why stats lie.......No one will remember this game as a blow out.......But some dip shit scout will say something like ERA or WHIP or K's vs Balls........Stats are bloated do to outcomes of games that are out of hand etc etc.....

You learn way more watching a game then ever spending years behind a spread sheet thinking numbers add up......This crap is moneyball......that was a movie and the A's have always sucked!!!!!!!!
