The mighty padres.....so sad.....been busy....lucky i didnt watch any of the 3 games.....i figured it was sunday getaway time....i picked up ross last night to start vs the tigers today...i figured they would get shut out or score a run.....last sunday it was one run also right? ..miggy sure isnt getting off to a good start...its one thing to lose series to good teams....but the fuggin padres when you got JV and max pitching? Sad.....we gave up 6 and 5 runs to a team that couldnt score to save their life....

But hey, were 6-4....good enough to win the central, but not better than last yrs team....

I think they would have been pretty good if they were healthy and actually invested more in the bullpen..

Well, despite losing the series to San Diego, some positives:

-- Nathan, Coke and Joba all pitched a scoreless inning. Waa-hoo!

-- Rajai Davis is doing his job, getting on base and scoring runs.

-- Despite giving up a bomb for his first earned run of the season, I think Ian Krol will be a decent lefty out of the pen.

And hey, the Tigers have a West Coast trip in the can, came home still 6-4, and really haven't played great baseball yet.

Cmon burf....thats just making excuses....NL park? Whats that got to do with anything? Having a DH only means avila will bat for sure. Losing to the lowly padres is bad....you at least have to take 2 out of 3.....they had gyorko or however you spell it batting cleanup? I didnt know half their hitters...i think they were averaging 2 runs a game when we came to town...

Losing 6-0 and 5-1? No prince there to blame the lack of scoring this time...hmm....guess everyone will just blame avila. Weird how certain tigers do get passes.

How dare you!?! For real though, I think Sandy Eggo is a legit team. Cashner and Ross will do that to plenty of teams this year. Venable, Gyorko, Alonzo, Cabrera and Seth Smith are all underrated, IMO. I think they pulled some defensive plays out their ass this weekend. And I think our hitting was lousy in general. Especially Mr. Moneybags, but I don't think the fathers suck. They're pretty good. Better than KC prolly. Those guys could use Romines power. (Alex Gonzalez shouldn't play anymore. He makes Peralta look rangey.)

I think they could win 90 if things work out right for them. A lot of players with upside. And Headley is playing for a contract. Totally with you on releasing Gonzalez. That was a worthless move. Threw away a young player with a lot of versatility for him. That sucks. Atleast he had a big game at the plate on Opening Day.
