I think gibby retired before ausmus played there.

I honestly expected this all along. The tougher question was who goes in Game 2 ... a well-rested Verlander or Price on his normal 4 days rest. JV was 3-0 in his final four games, and Price has put up donuts in 15 of his last 16 innings.

Yep. Gibby retired after '95. Brad came to Detroit in '96.

I saw miggy refused his playoff bonus saying that he only wants the ring. Greedy max scherzer was shocked that someone could pass up money and then excited saying more for me. I have no problem with max earning as much as he cans, but will be glad hes doing it elsewhere.

Looks like Ausmus went with Phil Coke over Blaine Hardy. Phil is more playoff-tested, I guess, and Hardy did not pitch very well over the last few weeks of the season.

The inclusion of Hernan Perez is a bit of a head-scratcher. He barely played this year, and carrying 6 infielders when Don Kelly is one of your outfielders seems unnecessary. I would have added another pitcher in place of Perez.
