I did get a kick out of Hennings collumn in the Detroit News today. He tried to give credit to Al Avila for the signing. It is well documented that the Tigers new third base coach who was with Houston last season knew martinez was on the outs with Houston and it was his backing that got DD talking to Houston about a trade in ST. When JD was released it was his relationship with dave Clark that got him in detroit.
