Another lousy loss tonight. These guys do NOT play as a team. Poor fielding, NO timely hitting and a bullpen that has to be the worst in all baseball. With only a 2 game lead in the Central and 13 straight division games, Detroit will be out of first place by the Cleveland series. Lets see how the "veteran presence" that Zoolander brags about handles the challenge???????????

Gosh, this was 8 days ago and ... yes , Detroit is in second place. But thank God, we have Rod Allen comforting the faithful by saying "and now we have a race". Rod, you're still a moron.

My preseason worries...

A true number 5 hitter to protect miggy n vmart
The bullpen...7-8th inning guys, not nathan
Having no power in the cleanup role...

The first 2 are killing the tigers....vmart is
producing....ajax i have no faith in...same with hunter.....nicky c is streaky but i trust him at the plate way more than ajax with RISP.

JV, nathan, ajax, hunter.....if 3 of those 4 can just be consistant, the tigers will be ok....otherwise the division will be KC's.

All that, and yet, the Tiger team is built around starting pitching. If the starters were performing up to pre-season expectations, losing skids like this don't happen. The surest way for this team to start winning again is to get SOMEONE in addition to Anibal Sanchez able to have 2 or 3 good outings in a row.

I agree Howie, this is mostly a pitching problem for the Tigers starting pitching no way to explain what has gone on the last 3 to 4 weeks....

All that, and yet, the Tiger team is built around starting pitching. If the starters were performing up to pre-season expectations, losing skids like this don't happen. The surest way for this team to start winning again is to get SOMEONE in addition to Anibal Sanchez able to have 2 or 3 good outings in a row.

I agree the starters have been bad, but the hitting has been worse. The only time this team scores runs is when were already down 10-3. Look at today. Only 2 runs given up by our 5th starter and we have scored none. They will let it get 4-0 or 5-0 before they get a useless run or 2. Anibal is great but how many times is he at the 100 pitch count by the 5th inning.

Just seems like this team cant score and get a lead and keep adding on...just go up swinging, get 0-1 or 0-2 then pop it up somewhere.

Smyly had quality start against Twins and no run support, nor any today. Cleaves the hitting has not been clutch at all IMO. They have been getting guys on. Then everyone rally kills. Defense has also been rather shitty.
