1) Juan Gone turning down 8 years and 140 mil in 2000.

Yeah, adrian, that woulda been a big OWEEE if we had gotten stuck with Juan for that length of time. Thank goodness for Comerica Park's LF dimensions in those days. I think that was the main reason that Juan did not want to play here.

Dirks continues to struggle at the plate. I like andy. had a great year last year. but he is killing us. he does better batting 2nd.. but he is swinging at pitching in the dirt.reminds me of how granderson used to do all the time

Smitty you know from all of my gerald laird defense back in 09 i agree, but avila is not a catcher either so santana would technically be an upgrade. If i had the choice i would definitely pick defense and gamecalling over offense at that position and shortstop.

Oh well seems like lately i been missing alot of games, and we been winning. But i did watch the JV game the other night. Just in time for the 7 run inning. So maybe its better i cant watch.

Same here, What a joke.......Who the fuck wants to watch the Cubs outside of half of Chicago.......It would be one thing if they had a chance......Tigers and Rangers are contenders and would draw a bigger audience....MLB keeps dropping the ball and can't figure out why their sport is declining.

There weren't many of us who missed Gerry the first time he left, but I know we both did. (Pena sure has taken some of the sting out this time around, but I still miss The LairDog)Maybe I need to review my list of Indians who I'd rather have. Cuz while I think Avila has improved behind the plate, he's still not good back there. My list of Rangers would definitely still be longer, pretty sure about that. (Even if a lot of them are currently on the DL)
