Once again detroit loses a series to a scrub team.....does it seem like when the tigs play on a weekday afternoon, they always seem to lose? Seems like everytime they have a wed or thurs afternoon game, they seem to lose. I didnt even watch today....didnt feel like listening to hawk harrelson and sale pitching.....watched the zimmerman trial instead......everytime i turned it there tho, the tigs had 2 men on....guess they didnt hit well with men on again seeing how they scored.

Now great, texas is coming to town......a team the tigs usually struggle against...,,,fister, scherzer, and JV going tho...lets hope to get 2 outta 3.......we lose a series to the sox while the injuns win one against the jays. We were the ones that shouldve been picking up a game.

Dull and boring?! That grand slam to a rookie catcher sure wasn't boring! I almost had to throw my beer at the screen!

It wouldn't have been so bad if he hadn't had that loud out to the warning track at the exact same spot on the field on the exact same change-up that he took deep for the win.

I don't necessarily blame Sanchez, since shit happens and the guy he was facing is a professional ball player, but when he almost takes you deep a couple innings earlier you don't go to that very same pitch with the bases loaded!

Oh well, lots of games left and we're still in first place. Some games are bound to get away I suppose...

I blame Sanchez. He was pitching just a fine game for not having the best stuff today. Going into the 6th gives up a hit and walks two.......Then gets a full count with bases loaded.......That's just not a pitcher feeling good about his stuff. He knew early on in the game.

My biggest gripe is if your a afraid to throw a strike then tell your damn manager so we can put in someone that will. Don't just walk guys for the sake of ego and that's exactly what happened.

FYI I like Sanchez a lot but ego trumped everything today and when bases are juiced because you walked them that way and get yourself into a 3-2 count, That's on him........He's also on my fantasy team and totally fucked me with that ego.

Send him down the river. Maybe those Toledo kids can teach him something. I don't care about the contract......He looks like Valverde just throwing left handed.

God Awful.

Bashing? That was my opinion....they dont play well in weekday afternoon games.

I didnt call fielder fat....or say hes a disappointment. Didnt blame miggy for not hitting 3 HR's. one bad inning got the tigers today....like i said, didnt see much.

Keep stirring......that is your ONE accomplishment in life.

I think it says a lot that we still have a 3 game lead and really haven't come close to putting it all together. If we get hot we'll run away with the division.

We just need the pitching and hitting working on the same fucking day once in a while. Sanchez was looking great yesterday till the wheels fell off, but save for a couple big hits the offense was asleep.

We're still one of (arguably the) most talented roster in the AL, so I certainly like our odds.

I think everyone can agree that it's much better to be arguing about not being great, vs. discussing how shitty we are. The Lions fans here can vouch for that, lol. Remember the "dark era" between Sparky retiring and Pudge agreeing to sign (that was the turning point for us, imo)? Exactly. I'm thrilled that we can be complaining about not being far enough ahead with our 3 game lead. That means we have a great team. Is this how Patriots and Steelers fans feel in the NFL?

I think it's a better possibility now to win 119 games, rather than losing 119. Helluva 10 year turnaround...

The Changing point occurred when the NHL put a cap in place. Ilitch then funneled all that money normally for the Red Wings into the Tigers.

It's still a business. Just follow the money. Sure would be nice if WCF had the passion of winning as much as Ilitch does.

Yeah, that seems to be the Tigers... Play up or down to the level of their competition. They win 3 of 4 against each of three winning teams (BOS, TOR, CLE), then lose 2 of 3 and give up 43 hits to a last place team that, coming in, couldn't hit its way out of a wet paper bag.

Yep. 12 straight losing seasons, most of it due to a barren farm system and the baseball equivalent of Matt Millen, Randy Smith. What this city did to deserve BOTH of those GMs, I'll never know.

aside from the obvious change from Randy Smith to DD, we did get a little lucky.

1) Juan Gone turning down 8 years and 140 mil in 2000.
2) padres passing on JV in the 04 draft.
