What I really disliked was Leyland's game plan of having the offense only produce one run.
until vmart can start hitting this offense is stuck in the mud. no need to pitch to cabby or prince if the DH flounders around 225.
well so far so good for CB pick Corey Knebel . College closer for Texas is now the closer at west Michigan and has not allowed a hit in his 3 games. Just wonder since he was a closer at a major baseball factory how fast he moves up?

Tiger first round draft pick Ryan Perry (2008) is now off the Nationals 40 man
roster and at AA Harrisburg. He has not pitched in the majors this year. The
Nationals were trying to convert Perry to a starter the last two seasons...but
that has pretty much been a failure (much like his time spent in the Tiger
bullpen).
Seeing stuff like that makes me worry that perhaps DD wouldn't
know a good relief pitcher if it bit him in the ass....as we head into the
trading season,looking for a closer.
I don't think DD gets the credit he deserves around here. Yeah I think it was a lapse of judgement on his part to go into the season without a legitimate closer, but overall he has a solid track record. Every day that scherzer and Jackson trade looks better and better. Edwin Jackson is perhaps the worst pitcher in baseball not on the Astros, granderson is oft injured. Cabrera is a beast obviously and the tigers traded squadoosh to nab him. Even the renteria for jurrjens trade doesn't look awful anymore. Although I still do not like the sanchez for turner trade, wasn't a fan then and still not a huge fan of it but after all of the great trades DD has made just have to trust him.
