Back to Back.....Torri and Miggy.....

I think we are hearing from fans that get over-excited about little things.
Two homeruns are not important in a 162 game season.

I still don't think Porcello is a bum. Not many 24 year olds I'd rather have as a 5th starter. (Probably none)

I know! No negativity allowed! But the Tigers' pitching sucks right now.

Actually was pleased with Alvarez' start for a third time, until Leyland left him in 1 batter too long. He had reached 109 pitches on a hot evening, and Smyly had signaled he was ready in the bullpen. Oh well, it didn't cost us the game given that the Angels scored three more. Just saying, for 109 pitches, Alvarez gave us another good start.

I still like Ricky.

But his fan base is shrinking.

Like I have been saying for two years...the kid ain't going to amount to anything.

I don't have the time to research this, but I will bet that he has put up four or five good, solid stretches like he did this year for about seven straight starts. these spurts always end with something like his last two horrific outings reoccurring.

You see, that is his problem. People are always going to be unable to resist comments like "Well, if you take away the 9-run pasting against the Angels in late April this year, the kid's record is really good."

The problem is you can't take them away. Because they are a part of the record, And, finally because another one is always just lurking around the corner...

I'm not a stat guy. But Ricky has a winning record over 5 years of baseball. Believe it is 52-47... He's only 24 years old. Most pitchers would be lucky to get into the Majors by 24 years old

I'll take Ricky as a #5 any day of the week....Just ask the Marlins or Cubs Where Ricky would wind up in their rotation and since Ricky is a ground ball pitcher, some NL team will be happy to have him on the Roster.

Yes...Porcello is the #5 starter. Why does that excuse him from being a good pitcher? He is getting paid better than a lot of pitchers, but we should excuse him because he sits at #5 on our team?

Question....how bad must Porcello get before he can (and should) be replaced by a AAA pitcher who will earn less than $500,000? Porcello is making $5.1mil....and that will go up after this season.

Don't expect and answer from muzz. He has put me on ignore...like a couple of others here. The little clique does not like to be corrected. Their answer to anything they don't like is to stick their head in the sand. Sad.

Looks like the Tigers are calling this one in. The guys want to catch an early flight to Tampa and get in some of that nightlife at the beaches.

why is coke still in the bigs. Whip the last 4 seasons of 1.43, 1.45, 1.64 and 1.30. really should not have a job. Today 3 hits a BB and gets one out. Uggggh. Can't get lefties out (hitting 300 against him) and JL lets hi face trout and Albert. it's called pen management . JL has no clue at all.
