if Scherzer was a yankee...he would be the lead story on ESPN.
max is pitching like verlander in his best form!

i disagree with max as good as JV when JV is at his best. Max is pitching good. max's ERA is respectable but not spectacular by any means. All in all I will take this max any day of the weak over bad max.

Awesome WHIP though. If JV can start pitching like JV (he has looked better as of late but still not JV like), when Dotel comes back, VMart starts hitting, the rest of their team minus cabby and peralta start consistently hitting (tigers always hit better in the summer) this team will be unstoppable. There are very few weak spots and 90% of them are in the bullpen.

Ok Max's ERA is at 3.2 now, last I looked it was at 3.5..so it is really starting to look pretty damn good so I take that comment back about his ERA, but still has a ways to go to match JV at his best.

I see Q-Berry is now part of the Royals organization. Will he bless them with his speed or his .150 AAA batting average. ...and through the 1st 2 rounds of the draft, Tigers go with 2 RHP. Can never have to much pitching. Whether Tigers use them as pitchers or trade bait, drafting power arms has helped them a ton imo.

verlander is ok. he won hus 8 game of the season. only 3 Er through 7 innings.. not to shabby for a team #3 hey iffy????
JV still hasn't dialed up the fast ball. still only hitting 94 95.
he tried to avoid Leyland in the dug out after the 7th so Leyland woul;dnt shake his hand and tell him he was done for the night...jokingly ..but Leyland got all pissed off... this Leyland is to old and dumb

former Tiger Bonderman. beat the Yankees tonight. he went 6 innings only gave up 1 run. first win since 2010 for bonderman. glad for him. he has dealt with a lot of arm troubles. hope he stay in the game

leland mad at JV for trying to avoid him in the dugout. Yet happy with valverde for no walks in the ninth despite giving up 2 HR's and a single. You just can't make this stuff up.

JV has 3 more wins. same # ks and walks and .4 higher era at this point in this season as he did when he won the CY.....Wins are what counts....no one has more wins, 8, than he has.....the guy is all washed up eh?

Excuse me, but WINS are NOT the way to judge a pitchers ability, or a comparison that should be used to prove his worth. Justin Verlander, pitching for Houston. would not have 8 wins. Wins are as much an indication of team offense as it is pitching prowess.

this just in. Sanchez will miss sundays start due to a sore shoulder. AAA starter Jose Alvarez will take his spot. Tigers expect him to only miss one start.

Tigers did select a catcher by the name of Thaxton Smitty from Western Michigan. Sounds like nepotism is at it again. (At least they passed on sweet swinging OF, Milton Muzzer)
